Most Helpful First | Newest Firsttiny player great price and features
Don't let the diminutive size of this MP3 player fool into thinking it can't be good.It is really small so it's a bit of a surprise that it takes two AAA batteries. It does last for ages though. Not only does it play MP3 files but also WMA files. That's about 40% more music on your player in WMA form than MP3. Also it's multimedia upgradeable so you can get some cheap Viking memory and treble the capacity. You can get 192MB in total! The sound quality is excellent but as always change the headphones. It's a shame it doesn't show track names in the display but it is nicely blue light to make up for it. If your travelling or down at the gym this is the player for you.
Excellent MP3 player
Well, I have only had this Zillion player a couple of days, but its much better than I throught it would be for the price.
Great quality sound, although be sure to replace the supplied headphones (as seems to be the case with nearly all MP3 players). Very simple and easy to use software too - no copyright protection to worry about either.
Its incredibly small - smaller than a credit card, but about a centimetre thick.
I'd recommend you get a 64Meg MMC (like the Viking one) to up the total memory to 128 Meg.
I normally store about 18 songs on mine at 160 kbps - very good quality, with a little room left for one or two more (with 128 Meg).
The only two bad points I can come up with are that its not quite as sturdy as some other players, and I wouldn't want to drop it. The other point is that it doesn't display track names, but I can live with that.
Buy it!
Great little player!
When deciding which MP3 player to go for, I had 3 design factors that needed to be present to suit my needs. These were (1) Physical size, (2) Memory, (3) Sound quality and the Zillion player meets them all with no problems.
Good Points :-
Size - The size of this player is tiny, but not so small that you are going to lose it! Its perfect fit for your shirt pocket, and thin enough to go unnoticed (about 1cm thick).
Memory - 64MB is plenty for just throwing a load of MP3's onto the player (using the very user friendly software) and at 128kbps I managed 16 average length songs. The great thing about this player is the MMC slot which means you can upgrade to a whopping 320MB!
Sound Quality - There are three sound settings, being the usual treble, normal, and bass, with bass being the best. Considering the size of this thing, the quality is very good, and that's with the supplied head phones, which aren't fantastic, but do the job until you can get some more.
Other items - Instruction manual is very clear and will have you up and running in no time. I got my player today and was listening to songs in 5 minutes. The packaging is good and is well presented, and they have even supplied 2 small demo MP3s on the player for you to listen to straight out of the box. You also get a necklace so you can wear the player around your neck. Software is nice and simple and a breeze to use.
Bad Points (hardly worth a mention):-
The screen on my player is ever so slightly off centre, so doesn't quite fill the diamond shaped window. As this player is light, it does not feel very strong. So although the build quality is good, I would not want to drop it!
Overall, if you are in town for a great MP3 player, that's small, full with features, practical and at a great price then you have to get this player......BUY IT NOW!!!
tiny
Apart from the size, I'd say it's a pretty average MP3 player. Sound quality isn't brilliant, despite using good quality headphones, and their are very few features.
But it's sooo small and light you can carry it anywhere - hide it in your closed fist, in your shirt pocket or even hang it round your neck.
Probably one of the cheapest 64MB players around at the moment, and it looks and sounds like it. But if you are looking for a basic solid-state MP3 player with plenty of memory capacity, the Zillion will do.
Excellant bit of kit
Having read the previous reviews here I decided this was the best option to go for. Reasons being:
1...USB connection. Essential for quick, easy downloads.
2...64Mb onboard memory. Minimum required for decent play time.
3...Upgradable memory. Bought the Viking 64Mb card as well... well worth the money.
4...Small and light...easy portability...doesnt get in the way in the gym.
Having now used this player it fulfils all the criteria and I was even surprised by the quality of the supplied headphones. Was expecting dreadful reproduction but they were not too bad at all...not as good as the Sony ones I also use but more than exceptable and less obtrusive.
All in all I'm very pleased with this device and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone wanting a good balance of sound quality, portability and value for money.
