DX3600 - it's fab, baby!

For point-and-shoot simplicity.....

I swithered for ages about whether or not to take the plunge, but believe me it's well worthwhile. Okay, you can't footer about with white balance, ISOs etc. but who cares? And, assuming you're not a professional photog., do you really want to? The pictures are sharp, the colour balance is first class, and the joy of showing your pix on a computer seconds after they're taken is worth the price alone. Software does all it's meant to, too. Three things: 1. Get a case (it doesn't have to be big), and a 128mb memory card - it means you can have stacks of top quality pix or up to 10 mins worth of video. 2. The video feature may not be quite camcorder quality, but it's an absolute hoot and it's a doddle to tape on to your VHS video - sound is fine too. 3. Get a dock. Being able to transfer your pix so easily, and having the thing always ready to go at a moment's notice, is fab. Oh, and don't worry about the dreaded shutter delay - it's a (very) minor inconvenience and you'll get used to it. Connecting to your TV is simple, esp. if you have connections at the front of your telly, and the slide show function means an end to passing round photos of your holiday snaps. It may not be the smallest camera on the block, but with its zoom function and intelligent flash it feels like the real thing - and it absolutely rocks. I love it to bits, and believe me I would have returned it had it been rubbish. You will not find this combination of features anywhere else, and I should know - I've worn out my mouse, and wife, looking. Go for it!

A Kodak Friend

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 18, 2002
I bough this a while back and after extensive use i've found this to be a superb camera for the avearge user. I owned a digital camera before but it was very old and produced grainy small pics. Naturally I was knocked back when this camera produced those 1800x1200 images. The video function is also a fantastic addition, although the microphone is a little over sensitive. It would of been nicer if the battery lasted a little longer. I bought a 128mb card to compliment it, and this allows me to store 200 high quality images or 10mins of video footage!!!. Overall i'm really impressed and would tell people to consider it if buying a digital camera for the first time.

This Camera is ideal for those indiviuals who want a decent quality photo but don't want ot spend hours working out the complex instructions in a manual. I worked out this camera in a few mins. It is not only easy to use but it provides and exelent quality photo. If you want an easy to use high quality camera that you can pull out and point at your kids or take holiday shots to remember this is a great deal of camera for the money.

Kodak dx3600 New user

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 2, 2002
I have just bought the Kodak dx3600, this being my first digital camera! so far I`m very impressed with it, the only draw back being the batteries supplied are not rechargable! so you have to buy rechargable batteries or your left with a non functional camera! The picture quality is excellent as good or better than a normal camera, Its functions are easy to use and simple. The software supplied is also easy to use which includes photo albams and easy print and share options as well as fun options to make your photos black & white and even to print as as drawing to coulor in! I would like to reccomend this camera as an excellent buy for anyone wishing to go Digital!

Super Camera, Fine picture quality

(5 out of 5) by Seneth Samaranayake on Jun 13, 2002 (Colombo, Sri Lanka)
When it comes to an economical, trustworthy and hardy digital camera, nothings better than the Kodak DX3600. Its indoor pics are not marvellous, but satisfying. But the outdoor ones take the cake. It is really superb. 2.2MP is quite enough for domestic use. My option for a first digital camera is this. Dont hesitate. CONGRATULATIONS KODAK AND AMAZON!
