A superb cordless phone.

(5 out of 5) by Andrew Brooks on May 14, 2003 (Bournemouth, Dorset United Kingdom)
The Panasonic is a very easy phone to use with some very useful features. It has on-hook dialing on the base and handset. You can listen to all the answering machine messages old or new from the base or handset. It has the facility to record a callers name in the handsets memory linked to caller id so when you get a call the phone will ring as well as say the persons name. There is an option to change the colour of the backlit screen also the keys light up. You need to read to instruction book thoroughly as the phone is feature packed but it does not take long to get used to all the functions. I would recommend it and find it easy to use.

Almost unusable

(1 out of 5) by Jeremy Mcgee on Apr 30, 2003 (Deepest Gloucestershire, UK)
The features look good, and although rather bulky the handset is quite light. But - oh dear, the software is just dreadful.

No piece of consumer electronics should require a user to keep the manual next to the appliance. This particular machine is a great example of how not to design a user interface.

For instance, it's not possible to listen to stored messages from the base station, only new calls. To hear the stored messages from the handset requires you to first press Int + # -- hardly intuitive.

The pre-recorded voice is flat and monotone, with no way to replace it with anything more attractive for the voice prompts.

Excellent and easy to use

(5 out of 5) by Matthew Westmore on Feb 29, 2004 (London)
This is an excellent phone and answering machine. The features are superb, its easy to use (I don't need the manual) and the range good.

Of particular note is the ability to copy the phone book (200 entries) from one handset to another. (You do need the correct extra handset).

Announcements can be customised and you can listen to stored messages at the base station, by just holding down the play button for 2 seconds, as it says in the manual.
