Rather than buy and install a CD player for £90, I've spent £10 and have my whole Ipod library whilst driving.
My tape player is vertical, so don't know if it would work in a horizontal one.
I drive a Ford Fiesta X Reg, and it works brilliantly in this car. Sound quality is fine, only the pickiest of people will complain. No tape noise or anything.

Better than a radio link to ipod
(4 out of 5) by Kevin Glover on May 23, 2009 (Leicestershire, England)I had previously tried to play my ipod via the radio, but with the problem that on long journeys the selected wavelength would get taken over by a local station, so needing me to stop and try to find a new wavelength. This is much better in terms of reliability. My only reservation is that you lose some sound quality at the upper and lower registers. However, since I mainly listen to audiobooks, that is not much of a problem. Overall, I'm well pleased with the purchase.
