Most Helpful First | Newest FirstFailed totally to live up to my expectations
This is not a cheap camera, and so I expected it to function "as advertised". However, no matter what I do, I am unable to get more than 15 frames per second out of it, even using the supplied software. (At any resolution). For a camera that claims to be able to output 30fps at all resolutions except 640x480, this is pathetic. While it's a nice idea- the walkabout feature impressed me, and the flash works well, the software supplied has a non intuitive user interface, and very little that is configurable. I am about to return this camera, and swap it for a Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000, which I have seen actually achieve 30fps *in front of my eyes* rather than in some ideal spec... And before anyone suggests this is due to an inadequatly spec'd system, I have a 1000Mhz Athlon, with 512MB ram. This is *well* in excess of the recommended spec.
What a HIT!!!
I love it!!! that's all i can say.
When i bought this, i had prepared myself for the worse. I didn't expect crystal clear quality pictures from this camera but what i have here is a winner baby!!!.
I'm not an expert in photography but i've taken quite a few pictures from different type of cameras for the past 21 years of my life, excluding the first 4 years. And i can tell you that for £109, you're paying nothing in comparison to what you're getting.
At low quality picture function, you can take up to 255 snapshots and 128 at high quality, that's usually the amount of pictures you take for a week long holiday in Greece or something. If you're planning to go around the world, it's another story.
Summary,
- Good quality pictures
- easy installation
- Excellent softwares included
- Cool design
- New kid on the block
Brilliant!!
I have been thrilled with the results from this camera. I had no idea when I got it that it had so much scope, and have had so much pleasure finding out what can be achieved with it. I would strongly reccomend it as a first digital cam for anyone as its easy to install and so easy to use.I would have preferred it to have a screen to pre-view the stills or video and to be clearer on real close up shots, but having said that this is basically a web cam that is doing a good job of being a digital camera. The shape fits into the hand making it comfortable to hold, it's light and small enough to slip into a pocket, while still giving clear good sized photographs.Believe me I have had much more expensive cameras that I have not been able to enjoy in the way that I have this one, partly because I am an inexperienced photographer and partly because the others were so complicated. This is simplicity its-self, try it you wont regret it.
Creative Labs Webcam. Easy!
When I got this webcam delivered I though it was going to be a pain to install and use as it looks complicated. This however was not the case, the software installed easily and quickly and the camera is so easy to operate that even my mother can take expert photographs with it.
If you do not have a digital camera this is a very inexpensive way of getting one. As you just unhook the lead from the computer and just take the camera with you.
This camera would be worth the 5 stars, but it does have it's down side. One being that it has no screen to view the pictures you have taken, two it does not support single picture deletion and three it does not use rechargeable batteries.
Other than that Creative Labs have made a fantastic camera.
