This affordable printer is good as a first printer, or as a backup printer. I myself use it just to print university lecture notes and rough work.
I had no problems setting it up under Windows XP. It includes the necessary USB cable.
It's quite quick and relatively silent - it's what you'd expect for that price. It's also compact so it's easier to squeeze in.
