Good 'phones but tend to have a "shelf-life"
I've had these earphones for over a year. They've impressed with their strong bass reproduction, together with their clear (but not bright) treble range.
Other reviewers have suffered from various cable-shredding and connection problems. Whilst I haven't encountered these, the 'phones are now distinctly less clear than they were when new, leading me to suspect they have a natural "shelf-life" from wear-and-tear, after which they need replacing.
Tried Sennheiser's CX300's which were just ok and nothing more, but became faulty almost immediately (actually a relief), so I think I'll invest in another pair of Sonys again (the MDR E818's). Can't really go wrong with Amazon or Sony, especially at these prices.

Terrible quality.
I was quite impressed with these... for two weeks. After the two week period the left headphone stopped working completely.
To rate the product while it was functioning the star rating of this review would be 3 stars higher, a nice balance between bass and treble, and good comfort... but this doesn't make up for how they became faulty after simply using them whilst sat at my desk in the office.
This is the second pair of Sony headphones that this has happened to.

excellent value
Great sound use them with my Zen Nano Plus, sound is nice and is clear across the whole range with a good depth.
The ear plugs are a comptable fit and dont fall out they also let in ambiant sound which is great for outdoor use, if you dont want to get run over!
The inline volume control is also useful.
Ive read alot of complaints about the build quality, Ive only owned mine for a month but they seem fine to me.
I would rather they had a longer cable its 1mtr, but I knew that when I bought them so im not going to knock off a star for that.
Recommended.

Great earphones for £10
Bought theses about 2 months ago, the quality of sound from them is far better than that on the earphones that came with my mp3 player. The bass is just right, a great quality product from sony, cheap price from amazon.

Don't be fooled by these earphones.
Don't be fooled by these earphones. Be very careful with the wires. At first these are very good, giving out clear crystal sound. However after some time these earphones just 'collapse' and break - always due to the wires. I've bought 4 of these over the past year and have had the same problem again and again. I won't be buying these again!
