Good for the price.

Excellent value for money and good quality for home use.

The sound range is great for classical music on a normal domestic stereo, too good for the radio and net. The cloth covered earphones are really comfortable but might be susceptible to wear and tear. I would give them about 5 years of solid family use.

The Sony MDR-CD380 'phones cut out quite a bit of background noise when used in the home. The open grid on the ears means that there is a little noise leakage - but not to the extent that happens on the normal tinny headphones which come with personal Music players.

The long lead is ideal for sitting in an empty chair - if you can find one.

Too bulky for outdoor / travelling use.

Very pleased

Jul 11, 2004 - By Amazon Customer

Very comfortable, the auto-fitting design is excellent - no need to adjust the headphones, they adjust themselves to the size/shape of your head! Good smooth treble and strong, warm bass. Much better than the in-earphones that came with my Sony minidisc player. Other reviewers have complained about build quality but I've found them to have the same good quality I've come to expect from Sony's products. Also, most other retailers are selling the MDRCD-280 for the same price, that's the entry level model - these (the 380s) are the next step up.
