Protecting your investment

(4 out of 5) by AlanH on Jul 23, 2002 (England)
First the good news - this case will fit the Sony DSC-P9 digital camera. This is something Sony don't tell you on their website. The only bad news is the price - why Sony can't include the case within the price of the camera is beyond me.
However, the case is well made and fits the DSC-P9 perfectly. It's fairly rigid, and doesn't have a huge amount of padding, but would probably protect the camera from a drop of several feet. It will protect your camera from rain, dust and sand. It comes with several carrying options, including a belt loop, wrist strap and shoulder strap. The addition of a smaller clip-on case for a spare battery and memory sticks is a particular bonus. Like every Sony product it's beautifully finished, and should easily last the lifetime of the camera. It's just a shame that Sony don't include it as standard.

To Buy - Yes or No?

(5 out of 5) by Simon on Sep 4, 2003 (England)
OK so you have bought the camera, so what are you going to store it in? For the price Sony should have provided the case with the camera, but their no more guilty here than any other manufacturer. Having known several people who have bought a nice camera only to drop or smash them, I wasn’t going to take any risks. For the price it’s a good quality case that can take the odd knock without damaging the camera. The stitching is strong so the belt tag wont rip off. It also looks the part. In short if you are getting or have already bought a matching camera get this case!

Excellent, slim and protective

(5 out of 5) by Chris Howlett on Jun 7, 2002 (London, UK)
I had been searching for some time for a case which didn't make my slim camera look huge. And here it is! This simple, slim case is protective enough to guard against small drops and being crushed in a bag.

Comes with a shoulder strap and also a pouch for extra battery and memory stick.

Also fits the P10/P12

(5 out of 5) by Dangerous Beans on Jul 6, 2003 (Cambridge, United Kingdom)
An excellent investment if you want to protect your new and expensive DSC.
My only complaint would be the number of straps, which can get quite confusing. I like to have a shoulder/neck strap, and also use the camera strap, as I have previously dropped a camera when the zoom was fully extended and broken it! However, there is also a small strap connecting the two zips, which are positioned either side of the case, with the idea being you pull on this, and the zips opens in one easy action. Using the belt holder may prove a lot easier to use than the shoulder strap, if only to stop it getting tangled with the zip strap!
Other than that, it provides superb compact protection, if, like me, you like to carry your camera around with you everywhere (in case the kids do anything cute).
The little pouch store for extra memory/batteries is also a handy addition, and removable if not required.
All-in-all I am very pleased with it.

A MUST HAVE ITEM!

(5 out of 5) by H. GOULD on Mar 28, 2003 (Somerset)
I was bought the DSC-P7 camera as a suprise. When he discovered it came with no case whatsoever, also decided to pay the additional extra to get this case, seeing as it's not a "cheap" item to be taking out all over the place.
It is an excellent case- slim, lightweight, very sturdy, easy to get in and out of quickly, and has a nice long strap to put across your shoulders, so it is then completely safe and very easy to carry out and about.
The additional pouch is also handy for spare memory and batteries, but removable for short trips.
A very neccessary MUST HAVE- glad he thought to get it straight away, although it's a lot to spend, on top of purchasing the camera- which is brilliant, -so both will get plenty of use!
