This system is well manufactured, something you can tell by the sturdy feel of the buttons and of the motorised CD tray. As ever, Philips have thrown in some fantastic speakers which easily bang out whichever sound mode you select at any volume you please.
The display is clear even from a distance, and there are absolutely no problems with the stylish silver remote. Buying the MZ33 is more of an investment than an expense, as you are virtually guaranteeing yourself years of reliable and good quality usage.
You'll also be happy with the comprehensive instruction and 2 year warranty (although you won't need it!).

I just bought the MZ33 and it rocks literally, I mean this thing may look small but it can go blow for blow with larger systems in terms of sound.
The speakers are the best ones I've seen for the size, the sound controller works perfectly with them letting you feel every piece of music. Its easy to use, and expandable so if you need things like a mini-disc recorder, or tape recorder you just hook it up. Me I only listen to the radio, CD's and CD-R's So I'm fine with it.
The design is stylish and solid, it won't break for moving it round. The buttons are easy to use, the display clear and all the functions are can be accessed quickly with the remote or with the buttons and jog dial.
Of all the many hi fi's I've owned this one is by far the best. Like the previous writer this is an investment in quality and not a frivolous waste like some other systems.
