The Sony VCT-870RM tripod is for the amateur videographer who takes his work seriously but doesn't want to pay for high priced professional equipment. The tripod comes with a remote control pan handle allowing you to easily start, stop and zoom whilst panning. It is supposed to be suitable for all Sony Handycam Camcorders and it certainly works fine with my DCR-TRV110E camcorder. The tripod has a lovely smooth fluid pan and tilt which is a must when using a camcorder. Before purchasing this tripod I made the mistake of buying a budget priced one which I instantly regretted when I tried to pan and got jerky shots. The smooth pans with this Sony camcorder will give your movies a professional look. The height of the tripod extends to allow you to use your camcorder at eye level whilst standing (if you are not over six foot tall). The tripod is classed as lightweight and is reasonably solid when fully extended and should be adequate for most home and semi professional use. A carry bag is included in the box.

Having ordered the product on october 3rd the auto-response email informed me that the product would be with me in 6 weeks. I was then informed that it had been dispatched and would be with me in the first or second week of November. To my surprise, it turned up at my house two weeks early. I'm over the moon with the product, packaged well, delivered quickly, and in fantastic condition with the correct components, I'll be using this group whenever I buy any more bits for my digital video camera.
