An expensive mistake

We bought two of these phones about three years ago. Both are now ready for the scrap heap. If this is the kind of technology Samsung give to the world then I would advise everyone to stay well clear of them.
The phones look very sleek but actually don't stay the course. Volume has always been a problem - now we have just one base unit in working order and you have to bend down to put your ear next to it to hear anything at all! Both have had replacement batteries (expensive) and neither handset now works. About £300+ down the Samsung drain as far as we are concerned.

So long. Samsung.

I bought this phone and, well, I wish I hadn't. As someone has already said; you have to shout to be heard, the reception is variable to none, and the 'rechargable' battery doesn't last.
The phone has finally failed with the battery unable to recharge for any length of time, with the phone turning off in the middle of a conversation. I feel this wasn't an intended 'feature' and as a consequence it sits on my desk as an inglorious paper weight.
ET once said 'Phone home'. Well I wouldn't with this phone.

Very good with minor flaws

Essentially this is a solid, good looking very reliable phone, unlike many DECT phones which are bulky and break down very quickly. Battery life seems excellent and the ability to use hands free is a real advantage. The problem is that the menu in the handset is convoluted and always takes two or three more button presses than it should. However, generally the phone is easy to use for the basics and much the best looking of the lot.

Looks gorgeous. But some let-downs.

It looks even nicer than in the photograph: slim yet nice and solid. It's a shame it's a bit of a pain to use.
The handset is designed with a very, very small speaker hole. It takes a little while to figure out where to put the handset against your ear. And the buttons on the handset are tiny!
The handset software isn't good, either. Like a mobile, it keeps a note of the last ten received phone numbers - but this is buried away in a menu option four keypresses away from the top.
On the other hand - the caller ID works just fine with BT lines, and the sound quality of the speaker phone isn't bad at all. I like the feel of the large, nicely spaced buttons of the main unit. I get the impression it was designed by a different team from the handset - and this group did a much better job.
And it's nice to hear a proper British voice on the answerphone!

Rubbish

I've had this for 8 months and, it appears to be a cool, small neat phone but suffers from (a) no-one can hear you !! I am constantly being asked to speak up, repeat what I said, sorry, can you say that again.... - the microphone is poor. (b) you can't leave the answerphone on and be able to answer the phone in time. Six rings (i.e. 3 seconds) is just not long enough.
