Top card for multi media

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 28, 2001
One of the top sound cards, in the music industry, with the ability to record instruments individually on seperate channels! It's got midi in, spdif in and out, optical in and out, Line in on a 1/4 inch jack and phono connections! One top card, what ever you use it for! Seperate out boards are available too!

PERFECT for MIDI sequencing!

This card was the turning point of my music making days! It has a lod of voiced in XG and even compatble with GM2! The sounds can be edited and modified in several ways. There are a huge amount of wave channels to used and since hte wave prossecing is done on the card it will not tie up your CPU. Easy to set-up but the instructions i got were in some european language so i went on to the yamaha website and there they were!

Music Never Sounded so good!

As someone who is seriously into Music sequencing this card is perfect. With about 1000 voices that can be edited and modified this card will give you performance that a few years ago would have cost close to £700! One thing to point out - this is not for gamers. The SW1000 will happily run alongside a Sound card for games though. If your going to get this card I advise using the same quality software - Cubase VST 5.1 for example, otherwise the card is wasted!
