This card is an outstanding piece of kit. I got it because i wanted to make music using soundfonts. this is a real advantage because you dont have to fork out for expensive external hardware. Anyway, the front panel is cool with all the in/out ports including optical and s/pdif for minidisk and DAT recorders. Of course there are always probs with stuff like this. It has a very tempromental attitude when it comes to sample rates. This can be a pain when using it with sequencing software like cubase but it is managable. get this card even if it is just for the sheer coolness of the remote and digital surround compatibility!

The 5.1 boasts a very very impressive bundle of features..... I got the model with the nifty front panel and remote control, and I can now control my whole comp while lying in bed!! This is definately the best of the range of soundcards and Is definately worth the price.. Its only flaw is the time it takes to install.... I was raring to start up thre pc, bbut I had to free a 5 1/4 bay, and work out which cable wass where, and although it took about 15 minutes, it was worth the wait!! BUY HIS...Its well worth it!
