Good value CDRW. Recomended.
I brought this unit to replace a CDRW which I have had for about 2 1/2 years. That had 4* read, 2 * write, and no CD re-writing. Having a faster CD with re-write is so much better, and I would recommend this Creative Labs offering. My only reservation would be the 'CD mastering software' which is included. I would recommend buying alternate software, eg Easy CD Creator. However the software is free and does work ok. RECOMMENDED.
Does What I Want
Was a bit tricky to install (alongside my existing CD player) but once done it worked fine.
I use it mostly for audio cds and use Nero (included) for this (never use Easy CD Creator again) and I can burn MP3s and WAVs no problem.
Very happy with it.
cheap, easy to use & good fun
This is my first cdrw drive. As a student I bought it solely on the spec and price. It installed without any problem. I did it myself. Windows 98 recognised it immedietely. Software - it comes with Nero 5 which is the only CDRW software I have used. Although not exactly intuitive I did manage to use it first time without looking at help files. It did grumble on some of my MP3 files which were not in the format it liked but generally it makes ripping MP3 to audio CD a piece of cake.
The drive has allowed me to back all my personal data & courseworks on to CD in a matter of minutes. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good value writer. It burns a full CD in about 9 mins. Once u buy it u won't know how u managed without it.
