I purchased this item back in October then after one week the motor stopped working so I took it back,and it was replaced,and soon after I found that the two star alignment data base had all the stars after F missing,after contacting celestron I found out that all the scopes had faulty firmware in the handsets,and so could not function as described,also celestron told me that unless I purchased the scope from a u.k. authorised dealer my warrantee was void,so I contacted the only U.K authorised dealer,who after TEN MONTHS of waiting they sent me an email telling me the new firmware handsets had come in,so I sent off my original receipt with the handset,and the new handset was replaced.
u.k buyers be warned..
you may end up buying a scope
and then having to buy a new handset
that cost around £100 this is what celestron wanted me to do !!
I also must add the scope has loads of bugs ,
if you buy one of these
check the two star alignment if its faulty send it back.
if the motor starts sounding like its grinding coffee send it back..
also the battery pack they supply isn't powerful enough,so you will end up buying a power supply or battery pack.
after all this if the scope comes with new firmware
it is well worth the money

I always wanted to buy a telescope, and after looking around, decided to buy Celestron NexStar 114 from Hubble Telescopes.
The order went through the same evening, with an email from the seller, explaining in detail what kind of telescope I have ordered, what I can expect to see with my new scope, how I should use it for the best performance and what kind of added gadgets I could get (as well as where I could get it for the best price!)
This is what I call a good seller!
The scope came within 3 days, packed securely and in perfect condition.
Aswell as a scope and all essentials (including two eyepieces of different magnifying strength), there are two cd roms, containing starters stuff astronomy software, charts, and a million other things that one could get really busy with.

I am still in contact with the seller, who is so nice patiently answering all my beginners questions and giving advice when I need it.

The scope is brilliant, the first look at the Moon made me grin for hours afterwards, amazing feeling!!!
I recommend stargazing to everyone, either as a hobby or something they would like to get serious about.
I will wait a few years, and then ask Hubble for a bigger scope, there's no turning back for me.

I bought this scope with the intention of taking up stargazing. It arrived promptly, was very easy to set up and was generally hassle free to operate (the computer handset takes care of all the tracking for you). The views it gives you of the moon, the planets and the constellations are stunning. It certainly impresses the friends at parties....but thats not why I bought it, is it? ;)

I`m no expert, but am finding this telescope to be a real beauty. Its simple to setup, highly portable and can see amazing things with it. The vendor is great and even the 'used' model arrived as if it was new !
There are other telescopes you can go for, but if you want portability and quick access to objects, this scope is brilliant.
I would say that you are buying exactly what is advertized tho, so be prepared to buy other things such as a carry case, juicer power supply and a barlow as well. I would recommened buying the lens kit at least ALONG with the scope to get a discount :)
