"Priorities" Is The Real Question.
Like other reviewers, I too have this light as well as a "Mighty Bright". For a fair comparison of these two lights it is important to mention the advantages as well as the limitations of each respective lights. As is appropriately named, the "Mighty Bright" certainly out-shines (no pun intended) the e-illuminator when comparing light intensity and coverage area of the DX screen. The intensity is subjectively twice as bright as the e-illuminator and the Mighty Bright light easily covers the entire area of the DX screen. The light intensity of the e-illuminator is barely passable in terms of reading and is certainly "OK" for short periods of time (perhaps an hour or so) but for prolong periods of reading in the dark most peoples' eyes would tire. The coverage area of the screen is also just barely passable for the e-illuminator; no matter how you try to position the light there remains a small area of the screen that, while it is still possible to read, it is a bit annoying because it is constantly in the shadows.
On the other hand, the advantages of the e-illumintor over the Mighty Bright is obvious. For those M-edge covers that are compatible with the light, the light is housed nicely within the cover without any bulges in the cover. Additionally, the cover is designed in such a manner that there is also little danger that the light will accidentally scratch the DX screen. Convenience of housing this light safely within the cover is the one and only advantage of this light.
The bottom line: if the convenience of the e-illuminator light out-weighs all your other considerations then this is the light for you. However if convenience takes a "back seat" to readability, then stick to the Mighty Bright or something similar. I think I will use my e-illuminator solely for travelling purposes but will keep my Mighty Bright for more routine use. What is your priorities?
My rating? 3 stars for "use" (readability) and 5 stars for convenience so I guess this averages out to a 4.

Not A Mighty Bright but VERY Handy
No, this isn't nearly as bright as the Mighty Bright XtraFlex Clip-On but it is just plain great to have a light with you anytime, anywhere. Just like part of the reason we all bought Kindles in the first place. This fits very cleverly into the various M-Edge cases and hey, it doesn't light up the stadium but you can read by it. If it was brighter, an easy 5 Stars.

Needs to be redesigned
The light I am sure works great for the Kindle and Kindle 2, but it doesn't throw a wide enough beam to cover the entire Kindle DX screen, the product needed to be redesigned for the Kindle DX instead of rebadged. It does fit well into the the M-Edge case though for easy transport.

Nice Try, But No Cigar
I've owned a Kindle almost from the very beginning, and have unsuccessfully searched all of this time to find a decent light. When I upgraded to the Kindle DX, I thought I'd try this one. While it solves the portability problem well-- the light stays nicely tucked in my M-edge cover without causing too many problems-- two issues remain unsolved. The first is that this light simply isn't bright enough, not by half. It needs a hi-lo power setting, but is permanently stuck on "low". The other issue is that because the light emanates from an undiffused point source, it creates an annoying reflection on the Kindle screen. You can to some degree alleviate this by jiggering things around and experimenting with new angles, but the real problem is in the design of the reading light-- and most other reading lights as well.
I'd still like to see a Kindle light with all the portability of this one, but based on the Light-Wedge reading light principle. (See http://www.amazon.com/LightWedge-Original-Book-Light-Black/dp/B000VR1NIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1257439127&sr=8-1 )
And... Kudos to M-Edge for making right-sized lights to fit the various Kindle sizes. I have great respect for such thoughtful engineering.

nice but not useful
M-Edge did a pretty good job on this. Problem is that even with it's good points it fails totally when it comes to doing what it is supposed to do..... Provide light. It is very dim. Mighty bright light is 100% better.
