Panasonic Lumix

(5 out of 5) by J. Adam on Oct 3, 2009 (Wisconsin USA)
I had been informed about this brand and style of camera from a salesman at a store that didn't carry these. So I checked Amazon, and sure enough, they had them...and in RED, too. I take a lot of photos for school, and I wanted a small, easily portable camera for sports related functions. A lot of photos and videos taken in gyms...and if you've experienced that, you know the lighting in gyms is poor, at best. These are not professional quality, nor do I expext them to be, but the photos and videos come out WONDERFUL! And the megapixel can be adjusted to smaller than 12 so I can take photos that are easily emailed to relatives. OH - and you can zoom WHILE videoing! I am VERY happy with this camera - for an aim and shoot digital I would recommend this camera!

Great Outdoors, Disappointing Indoors

(3 out of 5) by L. Oyster on Nov 1, 2009
This camera does indeed take magnificent pictures if you are outdoors or somewhere very brightly lit. Magnificent! But indoors or someplace with medium light, not even low light, MEDIUM LIGHT, it does a general focus rather than picking an object or face and focusing on that. It's weird to explain, but rather than a small green box indicating where the camera is focusing, one big box appears and takes up most of the screen, and there is no way to change it. The general focus means that it doesn't actually focus on anything so nothing looks sharp. At all your family gatherings such as birthdays and holidays, the pictures will be disappointing, even mid-day with all the shades open, the pictures are severely lacking. The zoom was a nice bonus but not needed so I swapped it for Canon SD 940 IS and couldn't be happier. Outdoor pictures are just as good but indoor pictures are far superior.

Nice compact camera

(5 out of 5) by Dina Labarge on Oct 6, 2009 (Wilmington NC)
I like this camera. It takes great indoor and outdoor photos. Its small enough for your pocket and zooms in pretty far. Its takes a faster picture than my old compact camera. No complaints

best upgrade camera

(5 out of 5) by Angela D. Troy on Nov 30, 2009 (st george island, fl)
There are a lot of features that really make this camera easy to use. I upgraded from a Cannon SD110 and I like the zoom capabilities when I take videos and the extra wide angle and zoom when taking still pictures.
