I ordered this power pack about ten days ago and it wish shipped very quickly. I received it within days from the West coast (I'm in NYC). The unit is sturdy and the wires that come with it are well made and fit the iPhone beautifully. What is really nice is that it also comes with a USB tip so you can charge other devices. The capacity is fantastic and I have been able to keep my iPhone topped off for days. In addition, I've charged two Motorola cell phones and a Garmin Nuvi and this power pack STILL has juice remaining for more charges. Forget the Richard Solo overpriced crap (formerly Sharper Image). Get this unit and you'll be very pleased. I rarely write reviews but in this instance it was warranted. I have absolutely no connection to this company.

I purchased this product in April 2009 directly from the Imaxpower website. It is so handy to have for keeping my iPod touch charged up. I have taken my iPod on long business trips with me and have been able to watch videos and movies for 4+ hour flights with several layovers in between without ever losing power.

The customer service for this company is outstanding! Two weeks ago, for some mysterious reason, the battery pack stopped transferring a charge to my iPod. I contacted customer service - on a Saturday night no less - and received a reply within 30 minutes! They exchanged my IMP500 for a new one with no questions asked. I mailed my defective battery back on a Tuesday afternoon and had a new one in my hands by Saturday morning! Keep in mind that I live in Northern Wisconsin and had to mail it all the way to southern California. The quick turnaround made my jaw drop!

For the one week when I was without my IMP500 did I fully realize how amazing this product is! It is SO nice to not have to be tethered to a computer every time I need to charge my iPod. I never realized, either, how short the actual battery life on the iPod is all by itself. I've become spoiled by my IMP500! I'm used to using battery draining functions on my iPod like video watching, web surfing, email without ever having to worry about running out of battery life thanks to the IMP500!

The product is exactly what I needed. The size and ease of use is so great. I had opportunity to talk to the people at Imax Power regarding an issue and the customer service was so personal and the response time was immediate. I traveled coast to coast with this charger for my iPhone 3Gs 32 and watched movies and TV shows almost the whole time with the security that I had this little jewel close by. The LED lighting system and the on-off capability make it so practical. It's so great that it doesn't just give you power, it recharges your device...multiple times before recharging the pak itself. I had actually ordered and returned a couple of battery chargers made by well known Apple support companies, but found nothing I was happy with until Imax! Reliable product, reliable customer support!!! I'm concerned about the fellow who gave it only one star without having used or seen the product, particularly when, in one review, he gave another similar product 5 stars because it helps him get around when he is "drunk."

After reading the various (arguably "bogus") reviews, I finally bought one of these units. They appear to be made by the Chinese company TECYEA (you can look them up on the web) whose prior model USB battery pack also works with the iPhone 3Gs. To make a long story short, I've tested the Imp500 battery pack and it indeed charges and powers iPods, iPod touches, AND the iPhone 3Gs. Just remember that you have to use the proper USB connector because my "touch" cord doesn't work with the iPhone 3Gs (but the 3Gs cord does seem to be downwardly compatible with the "touch"). I haven't attempted to test the true capacity of the unit yet, but if my prior (slightly lower capacity) pack is indicative, it'll provide at least a couple full recharges for your iPhone/touch. My son took the pack on a long bus trip and he was the only one still listening to music (and watching videos) after the 19hr bus ride (aside from his friends whose iPods he was also able to charge while on the road). My daughter had a similar experience on a trip to Japan. Finally, just in case you're wondering, the battery pack also charges my Sony PSP, Samsung Instinct, and my other USB powered devices that seem to be less power hungry than the iPod touch and iPhone 3Gs (one of my other 3400mah battery packs will charge all of my USB devices EXCEPT the touches and the iPhone). I can't vouch for the long term reliability of this specific unit, but my older "Tecyea" unit is still going strong after two years. I should also note that with a little digging around on the web you might be able to find this unit at a slightly lower price. If you choose this route, be sure to verify that it comes with an AC charging adapter and cord. Some units seem to omit this important "option." Good luck!

I purchased a IMP500 battery backup for my iPhone and iTouch before I left on a really long trip a few weeks ago. I went thru airport security with no issues. I connected the battery pack when my iTouch battery died and it worked great! I was able to continue watching my movie and get a quick charge at the same time. When other people saw me using it, I became very popular. I even shared it with a few other iTouch and iPhone users who needed a quick charge on the plane. When I was between flights at the airport terminal, I didn't have to walk around searching for a seat near an electrical outlet to plug in my wall charger. That alone made this purchase worth every cent I paid.

The unit is very small and light, so it is very convenient to carry around. I leave it in my backpack all of the time. Since the unit has a USB port, I can power up or charge-up any USB device I own. I like to take my GPS on long trips so I now leave my car and wall charger at home. I think the quality of this battery pack is very good and the price is very reasonable. It is the best, longest lasting, and most versatile battery pack on the market. The customer service is excellent; they quickly answered all of the questions I had about the unit before I made the purchase. I was so satisfied with everything about this product and the company; I purchased a second IMP500 to give as a gift for a friend. She would give it the same review I did. This company offers a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee, so if you don't like it, send it back. You can't ask for more than that!
