Does not fit my laptop

(1 out of 5) by Thao on Nov 26, 2009 (San Jose, CA USA)
My old Dell charger completely stopped working, so i went to Fry's and found an 80 dollar universal charger, works great, but still wanted something cheaper so i bought this "universal" charger, hoping i can still return the expensive one. So it came without the little sticks shown in the picture that was supposed to hold the set volt that you pick, then looking at the crappy instruction manual, it just tells me to pretty much plug in whatever fits. Then the worst part; NOTHING fitted. Dell was specifically listed in item description, but it does not fit!! I want my money back, this was a waste of money. On the other hand, it does fit my Toshiba laptop, but I don't even need it for that one!

A good investment

Overall, it works great!
The reason why I gave the instruction manual 3 out of 5 stars is because a couple of the the black and white pictures were hard to understand. The contrast was way too dark, making it difficult to see which part goes where.
As for portability, it's a bit on the heavy, clunky size. Measurements for the black bar: 5 1/2" (14 cm) X 2 1/4" (5 1/2 cm) X 1 1/4" (2 3/4 cm). Weight of black bar: 9 1/4 oz. (265 g).

The cord also comes with SWITCH GUARDS. Make sure that they were included in your package and hang onto them. It is important that you put on one because it keeps the red switch stationary, protects it from being bumped on the short side are easy to connect , but I would be careful to not stretch out the cord too far because the fit i

The cord came in the mail yesterday, Nov. 23, so I've only used it for one day, but like I said, IT WORKS GREAT, and if it breaks down or if any changes occur, I'll be sure to mention it here.

Works great!! A must have!!

I went shopping around to different stores around my town and they wanted me to pay between 80-170 dollars for a charger that only charged one computer.I was tight on cash but I really needed the charger since mine had died(normal wear & tear)I randomly decided to look for one on this website and tada!I found one that was super cheap!it works really well and ITS UNIVERSAL(a plus)!!!when ever I have guests over and they bring their laptops with them, they use my charger, all you do is change the volt settings and the adapter(comes with a huge variety of em).Its really easy to use.Anyone who needs a charger should deff. buy this one!It works like a charm and it wont break the bank.

A great option for my situation

This item is works really well for my Gateway laptop.
The only minor niggle is that plugging the corresponding adapter plug into the universal connector means there is an extra long fixed plug coming out of the back of my laptop when it is plugged in. Just have to be careful in situations where there is something behind where my laptop is set up.

Its a GT max Charger

(3 out of 5) by Michael Alexander on Oct 28, 2009
Received this product as a GT Max ,Tried the first and it pulsed and died so chucked in garbage with in 10 minutes of ownership, thankfully it did not fry the laptop , instructions say it should pulse but the second one did not pulse and worked , but its very unsettling feeling never knowing if this charger will just stop working at any time.
