does paper well
(5 out of 5) by EJ on Sep 25, 2009 (D.C. area)we used this lightly for about a year. THen i tried to cut cardboard. . . it stopped. And then it started after a cool off! Don't cut cardboard with this and You'll love it.
It does handle CD's and credit cards, as well as cardstock. But don't put corrugated cardboard in it.
the '11 sheet' is a stretch, but it's reliable, fast, and clean. It will handle junk mail without you opening the envelop. Cross cut is more space efficient and more secure than strip cutting. It packs down well, and when we use it like straw in the yard or garden, it stays down.
The bin is under the shredder, and to empty it you have to lift the shredder. It's a bit heavy. This is generally cleaner than a removable bin below, but paper shreds do fly around a bit. On the other hand, the shredder always fits right back into the top of the bin, so you won't have to worry with bin placement issues. The shredder must be properly mounted to function.
It is quieter than the last one we owned. This doesn't make it quiet -I don't think there's a 'quiet' paper shredder in the world. It may not be as good as the $200 shredders, but it's great for the money.
Highly recommended for the price.

Love this one...

Low down time....will shred credit cards/staples etc. without any issues. .. if you are looking for a cross cut shredder for home/home office at a reasonable price, this is the one to go with..

Very Good product

Expected it to be taller... its just conventional size... approx. 1&1/2 ft tall. Shreds all my junk mail easily. Worth the price that I paid. Overall I would recommend this shredder.

(4 out of 5) by l skala on Nov 9, 2009 (il usa)i did alot of research. i even bought a less expensive one. i just need a shredder for personal use. i took the 1st one back. it jammed in 20 minutes. so far this one hasn't had a problem. i like the safety lock and i have put in as much as 5 sheets at a time. i know it's recommended for more. after the 1st one, which was a different brand, i didn't want to push my luck. i'm very happy with it's performance. there's no bogging down or jamming. it's easy to feed. i would recommend this product.

Don't shred a credit card
(4 out of 5) by Cajunsez on Nov 16, 2009 (Bossier City, LA)Even though it says you can shred a credit card... trust me you can't. Also, you can't get it unjammed. Other than that it works fine. The reason I know that is the first shredder didn't show up, so a replacement was sent. Well guess what? The replacement and the intial order showed up at exactly the same time. I sent the jammed one back! So all is well and I won't shred credit cards in this shredder!
