It was a good deal. its really compact and works well. I was amazed it gives the sound quality same as what i get if i listen to a CD. I was very hesitant when I got this, but I absolutely love it now.
It just works
We are using this with an iPhone 3GS in our 2006 Range Rover. Easy to set up and works like a charm. The sound quality is quite good considering that it works with FM radio. We are very pleased with this purchase and recommend it highly. Way Way better than products that are twice the price!!!
Not worth much
It maybe because I'm in a big city (Detroit) and don't have much free space on the radio. I get lots of static about evry five miles I travel with new radio stations bleeding in. It may work for people in a more rural area, but not for me. Just wasted my money.
Few minor issues, but great value for the money
I was originally going to purchase an in-dash installation kit from [...] to hook up my iPhone to my Honda Accord but the whole works was going to cost me $[...]. This kit would have been well worth the money except I heard that the iPhone makes interference noises when hooked up, while and iPod would not. I do not own anything but an iPhone so I needed something that would work well so I can play Pandora through my car speakers. For a while I decided against buying an FM transmitter, as I have never had any luck with them, but after a lot of research I fell upon this product. The sound quality is what I expected, even better - it will not be the same as having the unit wired into the dash, but it works and WELL worth the money.
The only two issues I have with this unit are the following:
1) Reception is lost when driving to certain areas - you sometimes have to change the channel to make it clear again as you travel around the city. I wasn't leaving the state, and I wasn't traveling very far. It's just in certain spots it's a hit or miss. Not a huge deal though. This would be expected though if traveling long distances.
2) The channel CHANGES ITSELF while driving from one area to another. I will have it set to one channel, and as I move, the numbers start resetting itself back to the default channel. Why is it doing this??? It is pretty annoying to say the least. Do I have a defective unit, or does this happen to anyone else? It's like it has a mind of its own!!

Best so far!
Preface: I've been trying to find a good FM Transmitter since my original dlo Transpod broke. It worked perfect. I live in the NY Metro area and there are no transmition free stations to pick from.
I have an iPhone 3GS. I have tried products by Griffin, dlo (new), and Belkin. They all seem underpowered and don't transmit to my car radio well. Who knows, this may be an FCC requirement.
On to the Satechi:
Pros:
It works pretty well comparitively. Not five stars but much better than the others I've used.
It has enough signal that the volume is strong. The others I've used you have to turn the radio all the way up and it still doesn't sound loud. This one sounds pretty loud.
It's small and charges my phone also.
Cons:
Feels cheap. Don't know if they were going for lightweight but it just feels well cheap.
A little pricey but if it worked just a tad better I would say priced right.
Depending on the song there can be a little distortion in the music. Same songs are not distorted in my other external playback speakers etc. and not distorted in the other FM transmitters when they work.
A little more signal strength and a little less distortion and this product would be a 5 star!
