XP, Vista, and Windows 7...it plays 'em all!

Bought this to replace my aging ATI Remote Wonder. Needed something that would work on XP MCE 2005 and Vista, as I have to keep a version of XP on my computer for work. I have triple booted XP MCE 2005/Vista Home Prem/Win7(RC) on my machine and this baby works with all of them. No installation disc needed. Also Works with PowerDVD 7 & 8. Mouse control is a little slow but I don't use it much. Works from anywhere in my room, even if it's not pointed at the IR receiver! Buying a second (and maybe a third for backup) for my HTPC. Best price of all the MCE remotes too!

Works great with WMC and Hulu Desktop Beta

I've been using this remote for a few weeks and honestly no complaints. For the money, you can't beat this thing. I'm running it on Vista Premium 64bit w/ no issues. I started using it this week with Hulu Desktop Beta and haven't found any issues there either. Highly recommend for the price. Also, I received this remote in 2 days w/ standard shipping.

Works great

I am using this with Windows XP media center. You plug the receiver into a USB port and it works. I use it to watch online TV on a monitor without sitting at the computer.

Basic but not great for deeper integration

I was hoping to use this with my MythTV setup. It kind of works, but it isn't treated as a remote, instead it is a keyboard/mouse. That makes it easy to setup, but also means that I can't get it programmed the way I need it. Particularly, I can't use the play and pause keys and there is no menu key. Really disappointed with this one.

Great product, unfortunate cord length

I plugged this remote in, and it worked immediately. I love the mouse control function, and, compared to the OEM remote that came with my XP MCE box, I like the addition of more control buttons. The device is comfortable in my hand, and all of the controls are where you would expect them to be. It is a bit long, so for one-handed use, you'll be shuffling it up and down in your hand a bit, but that's not a terrible problem.

My only problem with this device is that the USB cable attached to the iR receiver is too short. I didn't measure, but it's somewhere between 18in and 24in long. This is nowhere near long enough to reach from the USB jacks on the back of my case to the top of the monitor or to the top of the hutch on the back of my computer desk, which is my ideal aiming point. I suppose if I kept my tower next to my monitor it'd be fine, but with my Media-Center setup, I don't like having a big ugly tower right next to my monitor - too many flashing lights while I'm trying to watch.

Overall a good product, but consider buying a USB extension cord.
