Very solid little enclosure

This is a great 2.5" HDD enclosure. The mounting system is very secure. There is a full-length PCB for you to screw the drive onto and that PCB then slides into a little track inside the enclosure. Once everything is in place and end cap is screwed back on, nothing wiggles around in there at all.

I also like the exterior design. There aren't any little nubs or features sticking out to snag on things and break off, so you can easily slip it into a pocket and not worry about damage.

Lastly, the presence and ability to choose between both USB2.0 and eSATA connections is very nice. If you're going to be using the drive a lot and want to dig out the eSATA connection, you can get that extra speed. Or, if you just need to transfer a couple files, you can just hot-plug it with the USB cable and then eject the drive again when you're done. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and think it is a great bang for the buck.

Great... worth the extra money

I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for something that is worth the extra bucks and I think this unit is. It works well and is well built & good looking, especially compared to much cheaper units... so spend the extra few bucks!

Works fine

Bought this to be able to access old hard drive data while updating a laptop, also because it supports eSATA. Works fine, was recognized right off. Nice not having a separate power cord, although the dual-usb connectors on the cable are a little confusing (be sure to read the manual).

Great hard drive enclosure

Used it with my old 2.5 inch sata disk and works perfect. Easy to install and use.

A nice neat package

After a couple days of trying to find a decent HDD enclosure,I came across this one. it was one of the few legitimate looking ones, there are a lot of wierd ones.

but anyway, I am very happy with this case, it's very simple, light, and the WD 250GB 2.5 SATA HDD that I bought fit with room to spare, which combined with the alluminum case makes for great heat dispersal. It stays relatively cool while I'm using it, and they also give you four little screws to secure the HDD to the "Motherboard" that fits in the case also. Once you have it all together, you just plug it into your computer, Partition the HDD, and then you're ready to go, the USB makes it a nice plug'n'play device, that I'm sure most people use as a backup HDD, but I have my macbook operating off the external device right now, but that's another story.

It runs surprisingly fast just being connected through the USB. My computer has been running very quickly with the way I have it setup right now.

The little blue light is also a nice touch, always letting you know when the HDD is working by flickering.

On another note, when I was first looking at this item, I was flipping through the pictures they have here, and the one with the "elegant" pen next to the device threw me off at first, I thought maybe the pen was a free gift or something, but then I realized it was just to show how elegant, sleek and sophisticated the device was which made me laugh. seemed kind of silly, but I guess that's one of thier selling points though.

But I highly recommend this device for anyone looking for a portable HDD enclosure.
