Great but doesn't fit perfectly

(4 out of 5) by M. Patel on Sep 17, 2009 (Seattle, WA)
This is a great laptop case for my 15'' macbook pro. It is sturdy, well-built,and fairly lightweight. However, I found that there's quite a bit of "wiggle room" for the laptop inside of the case. I don't expect it to be a problem as far as the case protecting my computer, but it does make it that much more inconvenient when transporting something this bulky in a backpack. They could've made the case fit a bit tighter around the laptop, I think.

Good fit, excellent padding

I'm using this with a MacBook Pro 2009 15" unibody. It fits well and has very nice memory-foam padding. I haven't had any real-life tests of it, but it seems much more protective than the lighter neoprene sleeves. It is easy to get the laptop in and out of it. Zippers are high quality and well-enough separated and padded from the laptop body so as not to pose any significant danger of scratching it.

A note about the color. The outside is NOT solid black, but rather black with grey and brown stripes. At first sight I thought I wouldn't like this, but it has grown on me.

Slightly loose fit.

(4 out of 5) by Toxa P. on Aug 21, 2009 (NJ United States)
The case is slightly larger than the new MacBook Pro 15.4" unibody. The laptop feels a little loose inside of it. I would feel better if it would fit more snugly. The material is pretty dense. This is nothing like the memory foam they use in Tempurpedic mattresses. This material feels much harder and makes the sleeve semi-rigid. The edges of the case are reinforced by internal banding and should provide an additional form of protection if the laptop lands on an edge. The zipper is nice but has two runners/sliders, each with large metal gripper. Why two sliders on such a short zipper? It makes for an unnecessary jingle when you carry your laptop around. In all I think this a good case to cary your laptop around in and to protect it from scratches and bumps. Though, I'm not so sure it can protect the laptop in a fall, after all, MacBook Pros are pretty heavy.

good

I am a college student, so this computer and my case get thrown (literally) into my backpack all the time. I have yet to have a problem. I will tell you I was initially really upset b/c the case caved on when pressure as applied. I had it next to a spiral notebook and the spiral left dents. I am happy to say they went away in a matter of minutes and my laptop is safe and sound. I would recommend this product!

Excellent Product

This product is made out of excellent material for absorbing impact. The best I have ever seen for that purpose in fact. The material inside is soft, and the overall construction and durability are excellent. The zipper is top-notch. Fit is very good, though for how specific this product's purpose is, they could have reduced the half inch gap along the direction you insert the computer, but I'm just being picky. The fit is certainly the best you are going to find. No regrets, very happy.
