pleased
I purchased this product May 1 and use it with the Panasonic 42" plasma. The picture is amazing the detail and clarity are true to life and the viera link makes using one remote control user friendly. I would recommend this blu ray player. The only drawback is if you want to use netflix for video streaming, it is not supported.

Best Player out there
I have this player, best affordable player that is available today in the market. If you need Analog o/p Channels, then you should go for its bigger brother BD80.

So far, so good
First, my new Panasonic DMP-BD 60 Blu-raya player arrived a day early! Yay, Amazon! Second, installation was probably the easiest of any DVD type player I've owned. So far, I've had an Onkyo 6 disk player and an LG DVD/VHS combo unit, and the Panasonic was far easier to set up. It helped that the LG unit used HDMI and optical TOSlink for audio, so I was able to simply disconnect those and reconnect at the back of the Panasonic.
Since I had extra long network cables I'd made in the past, plus a spare router, I was able to hook up the internet for the firmware update pretty easily. It found my connection and started updating.
I haven't had it long enough to play an entire movie through, but I've tested a Blu-ray version of South Pacific that I bought just for this purpose, a standard DVD version of Batman: The Dark Knight, and a 4:3 DVD I made from video shot of a piano recital.
Yes, it does take a lot longer for the BR to come up and start playing, but that's just extra time to grab something to eat and drink.
The home movie was actually sharper on the screen than on my MacBook Pro screen, or the 20" widescreen monitor I use for editing.
I'll see how this does over the next month or so when I toss different disks at it. It will be interesting to see how the resolution looks when it upconverts Xena DVDs. The LG did a good job with those - until it decided to stop playing.
So far, it is a good buy. I'll update if things change. This may be premature, but I'm not really planning to use the VIERA Link or BD Live features.

Bought this for my husband, and he was REALLY excited!!
My husband enjoyed this for about 3 weeks, and then it quit working...But, I must say~Amazon was excellent in exchanging with him and NOW the player is working GREAT! If it had worked well the first time, I would have given it 5 stars.
