Solid TV
Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase of the Panasonic TC-P46G10. Sports (especially football and baseball games) look great on this thing. Movies look great too except the motion quality isn't top notch. Don't get me wrong, it's good. But this is a G10 model, not a V10. Here are my pros/cons...
Pros:
- Competitive price.
- Excellent clarity and color quality.
- Great for gaming (very minor phosphour trails).
- Minimal Glare.
- Built-in burn-in retention (I fell asleep to a blu-ray and the menu screen was on the screen all night and there was not even a trace of burn-in).
Cons:
- Motion quality is not quite as smooth as 120hz or 240hz technology, or the V10's 96hz.
- The 48hz feature is worthless, the flicker is unbearable.
- The screen smudges super easily, but fortunately comes with a special cloth to clean the screen.
Bottom line.. Great bang for your buck!
Hope this review helps someone. :)

Plasma beats LCD hands down!
I previously owned a LG 47" LCD television. I have had this 46g10 for about two weeks and it is superior to the LG in every way. I have friends that own LCD's and they are envious of the colors and picture of this television. Bottom line is, the black levels are great, the color is great, the picture is great, the motion clarity is great. Don't worry about the supposed "overly green" or "red push" you may read about. The TV looks great. Only equipment is going to pick up those discrepancies. Skin tone seems spot on as does the greens and blues. Standard pictures are also very good. No complaints....except week sound, but that is the case for all flat screen TV's. Not much use out of the Viera cast yet, but love the card reader for looking at pictures. Price for quality, this TV is awesome and Plasma defeats LCD hands down. I will save the fifth star for reliability of which I can't comment yet...no problems so far.

Great TV for the price
I don't own the equipment to calibrate an HDTV system. I don't know what the proper operating temperature of the television should be to achieve the perfect color tones. I don't know where my brightness setting should be to have the deepest blacks but still reserve the brightest image. I know none of this crap. But I do know when a television delivers a great picture, and this one certainly delivers.
I paid $1300 for this set (and I'm seeing it for cheaper now), and it's worth every penny. I've tried Directv HD programming, Blu-ray movies, and PS3 games on this set. Everything looks amazing. For this price, I would recommend this TV to anyone. This set has a THX video preset that just needs a few minor tweaks, and it is basically ready out of the box.
Maybe you could pay a little less for the same size television, but I bet you'd be kicking yourself if you saw this set at your buddy's place the following week and realized what an HD picture is supposed to look like.

Beautiful picture, all the youtube you can eat. Very pleased.
Overall: Beautiful picture. The THX mode is stunning for watching in a darker room with a theater like setting. Vieracast functionality is a nice extra. Sound is nice with virtual surround setting turned on. Very pleased with the purchase. White glove delivery through Amazon was a nice extra touch. Thanks Amazon.
Picture: It's a thing of beauty, but don't take my word for it, you need to go see it for yourself and compare it to other comparably priced sets. Will 1080p functionality really matter for you? Broadcast television, even after the digital transition, is in 1080i, or 720p. 1080p will only be used if your playing a blu-ray movie through a 1080p player or playing playstation 3. If neither situation describes your needs, you may not need this tv.
Vieracast: The most impressive part of vieracast for me is the youtube youtube functionality. It's free, with a growing selection of movies at your disposal (my wife and I watched "Supersize me" yesterday. Don't expect to be able to stream these youtube videos in HD though, you'll be disappointed. On the other hand, you cant rent/purchase HD quality movies and TV shows directly through Amazon Video on demand through the Vieracast interface. We tried out a couple free shows (pilots of two new TV shows) and we were happy with the smooth and sharp results.
Sound: For TV speakers they are just fine, a bit too much treble for my liking initially but this was remedied by turning on the emulated surround sound system and lowering the treble just a bit.

Great TV for excellent price
An excellent TV, fairly straightforward to use, excellent picture. We wanted to upgrade from a 32" 720p Vizio to a larger 1080p HDTV in our family room. The better quality LCD TVs quickly exceeded the price of this TV. Plus plasma produces a brighter picture, and with 600Hz refresh rate, there is none of the ghosting or motion blur you sometimes see with LCD TVs. This is upper middle-class in Panasonic's line-up, and we are delighted. Hooked up to a HD digital cable/DVR box and great picture (other than when the digital signal from our provider has issues). Beautiful picture from Blu-ray discs (BBC PlanetEarth series is absolutely gorgeous). We are really pleased with this after nearly 2 months of use.
The three HDMI ports are quite adequate for our Blu-ray player and cable box. There is still one free if we choose to add another hi-def source.
Panasonic includes VeraCast, which connects to the internet and allows you to see Utube and other internet video. Unfortunately, our home network is wireless, and the connection is coax ethernet. We will need a wireless to ethernet adapter to use the feature. It would have been nice to have a USB port or other option for networking.
The set is also Energy Star, although we don't have a sense of energy usage yet. The set is highly rated elsewhere.
