I'm going to list the cons first, well, the con, there is only one. I want to ask what in the world they soaked this thing in prior to sending it to me - formaldehyde maybe? The smell was strong enough to burn my throat when it arrived. I doused it in Febreeze, stuffed it with dryer sheets and it still took about a week to really get rid of the awful smell.

Now, after that was over, this is exactly the case I wanted. I have a skin on my Kindle 2 and like the feel of it in my hands, but I wanted a case to protect it in my purse or sitting on my desk because I have cats. The construction feels well made and I have used it for over a month without any issues. The stitching is tight and neat, the edges and corners are sturdy, the velcro just enough and it looks very nice, better than any of the leather cases I have seen. It is a great charcoal gray wool kind of feeling on the exterior and a light tan chamois type feel on the inside.

I think if you can let it air out well, this is a great case. It is not meant as Kindle body armor, but will certainly protect it from accidental damage in your purse or briefcase or just lying around the house.

This is a simple cover in which the Kindle 2 easily can be inserted and held securely in place with a small strap that fits over the right hand corner of the felt case. It appears well made, secure stitching and simple to toss in one's purse or knapsack.

The second I opened the package, however, I noticed a strong odor. It was an unpleasant odor coming from the case, not the box in which it was packed. Both the exterior and the internal cover have a pretty foul chemical smell--I am sensitive to smells but I can ignore those that are too strong. This I cannot. I placed the Kindle2 inside the cover and soon it too smelled like the cover. My hands also smelled like it.

If you can get over the smell, this case will work, particularly if you want something simple that will not add much weight to your purse or knapsack. I will see if this odor dissipates in a couple of days. If it doesn't, I will need to return this because the odor will be constantly offensive to deal with. I also plan to call the company to ask what is causing the odor. I'd like to know what chemical(s) I'm being exposed to.

Still, if smells don't bother you, this will work well.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It is primarily going to be for people who don't use the book cover, but rather want to read the kindle either "naked" or "skinned" with something fun from gelaskins or decalgirl.

The construction and feel are excellent. The outer shell is made of a tactile wool that is nicely stitched together and is neither slippery nor abrasive to the touch. The inside lining has the look and feel of a chamois cloth and will not harm the kindle.

The edges are totally stitched closed on two sides, but the other two are somewhat open for easy access to the kindle. Never fear, there is a Velcro strap at the top right corner to secure the kindle.

Overall, this case adds protection and style to an already elegant reading device.

I was looking for a cover that would protect my Kindle2 when I put in my purse. Many of the ones I liked either took several weeks to ship, were too bulky or cost $100. I decided to order this Incipio cover and it arrived within 2 days. It did have an unusual odor that another reviewer mentioned but I put an unused fabric softener sheet inside (along with the Kindle) and within 2 days the smell was gone. In fact, it smells so good now that I just left the sheet there. This is a great case with soft suede-like fabric inside and dark gray felt outside. It is very sturdy but doesn't add any bulk and it has a velcro closure so I don't need to worry about anything scratching my Kindle. Overall, a great case at a great price. I highly recommend it to any Kindle2 owner.

I have had my Kindle 2 for 3 months and that entire time have been trying to decide which cover I wanted to use for my Kindle. I decided I liked holding my Kindle, and didn't want a cover that I would have to hold and maneuver with every use. I purchased a skin and a travel bag from another website , which I love, but wanted a cover to protect my kindle in addition to the skin. I looked at the picture provide by Amazon and was having a hard time imagining what it looked like, but with the reviews that were given, decided to go ahead and get it and see if I liked it. It is sleek, does not add much weight at all to the Kindle, as others have said, it is a dark gray felt cover with chamois-like interior. The velcro corner strap will secure the Kindle, yet make it easy access to replace the Kindle when done with it. Because it does not add bulk, I will easily be able to toss my kindle in its case into my purse or the Kindle travel bag I purchased and know I am not taking up a lot of space. I would like to see this case made in many colors so I can pick and choose depending on my mood!
