I just wanted a a good camera for normal use. This one gave me the feeling that I'm holding a real camera - not a toy like other small ones in the market. It also gave me more than my expectations as a non-professional photographer beside to its easy of use.

Yet I don't know exactly as a non-porfessional user what is the real difference of using more pixels, I think it would be better if they provided more than 9.1 mp.

It seems to me that this camera requires some learning ...the
auto and other shooting options seem to be either over exposed
or under exposed. I always need to adjust the exposure to get a
better image quality.

If you are looking for a pure point and shoot with no more
intervention, this camera may not be right for you and you
may find the image quality is not good at all.

However, the new feature such as panorama mode is easy to use.
The twilight and anti-burr options are nice but also require
manual adjustment of exposure.

The HD video recording result is also very good.

Again, if you are willing to spend some time to learn to use
this point and shoot, this is the right camera for you. if not,
please look for another model.

I have just received my Sony Cybershot DSC-HX1 9.1 Digital Camera 8/31/09 and & here's an up date review of this item thst will be list below here.Last month one took a vacation cruise for 9 nights with five port-of-call for Portland,&Bar Harbor,Me.& St.John,New Brunswick,plus Halifax,Nova Scotia,plus Boston,Mass.where
one give this here Digital camera a real work out as one was very pleased with all
my 246 Photo's taken.This up date report was done 10/20/09 a month after coming
back from my vacation cruise taken.I am very pleased with my new Sony Cybershot DSC-HX1 Digital Camera.

I'm not much into videos on a digital camera but I must say this HD1080 is pretty awesome when viewed on a Sony HDTV but having said that would someone possibly be able to tell me why it want load the videos on my computer? I can go into the removable drive and force them to load but then they want play. Does anyone else have this problem? Please comment because even tho I'm not into video, this issue is driving me crazy. I've tried talking to sony but they don't seem to know what I'm talking about. Otherwise I do really like this camera and I bought it thru amazon and got it about three days before it was supposed to be available.

Came quickly and in new condition. Good price and i like the camera a lot.
