First of all, I received this product today, March 11th, when the M-edge website says it's expected to ship out on March 18th, and amazon.com predicted it would arrive April 1st. Fast shipping is one of my pet peeves and I was absolutely delighted to find this waiting for me when I came home!

The product itself: the purple wasn't exactly the shade I expected -- it's a slightly duller color than is shown in the product image, but it's still a stylish and elegant color. My Kindle 2 fits perfectly inside, and the case offers the exact combination of style and protection that I was looking for.

Some things worth noting: This case was designed with space allocated for the M-edge e-Luminator book light (the white thing shown in the photos). I don't have one of these, so when I close the case with my Kindle inside and look down from the top, it looks weirdly hollow on the left. I love the pockets on the inside cover of the case -- perfect for holding business cards and any loose bits of paper I might have. I have a minor complaint which must in part be attributed to my OCD-ness: I hate bending bindings of books, and that anal retentiveness has carried over to my Kindle case...I don't see myself ever bending the case backwards, which means that the "previous page" button is harder for me to access since it's only available on the left side (the side at the center bend of the case). For people less anal, this should not be a problem (although I do really wish they'd put a "previous page" button on the right side as well). The M-edge case also makes the Kindle significantly heavier, but the weight make it feel sturdier to me, so I don't mind that too much.

Other than the couple of complaints I listed above, I'm totally in love with this case. It's exactly what I need. I shopped around for several different types of cases before purchasing this one. I was hesitant and worried that the Kindle 2 wouldn't fit properly since M-edge was taking pre-orders on it before the Kindle 2 was even released, but it's perfect. I highly recommend it.

I really like this case so I searched for the manufactures website and went there to see if they had it in stock. It apparently will be shipping the middle of the month, but the one important thing is the light that Amazon shows with these pictures is an accessory itself. This optional light called the M-Edge e-Luminator will be sold in March as well for $14.99. I believe it's an honest mistake in the photos but....

Either way it is a case I plan on buying along with that light!

This is a great, quality cover, showing fine attention to detail, even stitching, interior pockets, etc. The color, as noted below, is not quite as dark as the picture on the Amazon page above, but not as dull as the picture you can see on the buymedge.com site, in the picture of the stack of covers of this model, in all colors. Beautiful, beautiful shade of purple. I'm glad I changed my order to this color.

Yes, there is a bit of empty space at the spine, to accommodate the booklight, not yet available. I do intend to get that item when it's available, don't mind the present space. The cover flips back behind the book, no problem, if desired.

This is a new color for M-edge jackets for the Kindle and I love it. It is very cool. Not too light and not too dark.Just a perfect color of purple. The 4 star is for the empty space in the middle for the e-Luminator, which is yet to be released by M-edge. They anticipate that the 2nd generation of the light will be released by end of March 2009.

My friends told me that when I got my Kindle, I had to have a cover. They were right, and this cover does the job well. It is soft and comfortable in the hand. It is sturdy yet durable. My labrador put my Kindle and cover through his own mild oral test, and the cover did an excellent job guarding the screen from paws and drool. This cover has done the job in my bag, protecting from keys and pens, coins. Looking at it now, there are no scratches on the Kindle or the cover, and the Kindle has never come loose or slid out of the cover. I am very happy with it so far.
