This touchscreen works well for very basic computer, internet and email functions in addition to the build in software apps. With the Atom processeor it is by no means a screamer however for the money it is great value. It is a good looking and functional appliance. The touchscreen works as expected and also comes with a nice keyboard and mouse.

We purchased this product to sit in the kitchen principally as an internet station. Purchase date was April 13, 2009. Last week in mid Oct the unit died completely. Specifically it doesn't appear to be able to mount the harddrive. No recovery is possible. All photos and songs will be lost. Failure was preceded by a month or two of stuttering streaming audio and slow performance. These items may not be related, but if you observe these things, back your stuff up! I can't say if this is an individual unit issue or is a product line issue, but either way I'm pretty disappointed. Other notes:

Warranty Policy: No extension of warranty on repair work unless you're in between months 9-12 of original period, and then it's 3 months from time of repair.

Returns Policy: You pay to ship it to Asus.

All in all, while it fit better than another boring laptop for what we wanted, the obvious quality issue makes me recommend: DON'T BUY IT. Probably not any of Asus other products either.

We purchased this ASUS Eee Top so our 70-something parents could finally get on the worldwide web. This is their first computing experience and what a perfect choice for their first machine. Our two-year old granddaughter LOVES this machine too. The ability to set up the computer anywhere is great with the wireless connectivity. Having the smaller keyboard works in their favor and still provides all the functionality possible. They have yet to use the mouse provided because the touchscreen makes it very easy to tap your selection; whether with the stylus included or with your fingernail.

The price point was great through Ritz camera / Amazon. There are three games installed as well as a couple of solitare games to help with the stylus and tapping skills. The Easymode is wonderful for first time users; the machine comes with all the software a user needs. There's even a card slot for digital camera memory and plenty of USB ports.

I am so pleased with my purchase. I do a good number of trade shows each year. I purchased this to use on the trade show floor because of it's bright screen and form factor. I could not be more happy with my decision. A+

XP? and the specs of this machine were top of the line 12 years ago. This is just an old spec computer that cannot handle the promgrams of today with a new design. Don't be fooled. Go for a HP touch smart or better yet, the best an Imac.
