I actually purchased this computer for a client to be used as a simple remote status panel for a piece of equipment. I required the touch screen for proper operation of the software being implemented.

I set up the computer at home for my kids to check it out. They haven't stopped finding new fun things to entertain themselves. That was until our new puppy decided to use the power cord as a chew toy. I recently received the new power supply and the fun started up again. The touch screen brings the computer to life and adds a whole new dimension to the entertainment value. I give high marks for a very reasonably priced computer.

This does put me in a bit of a predicament, because I have to deliver the computer to my client in several weeks.

The first time I saw one of these, I knew I had to have one! It's so easy to use and convenient too. The screen is 15 inches, but it feels so much bigger thanks to the easy to identify icons. The first day I got this, I spent 3 hours just playing with the touch screen and all the cool programs that come with it. A 1.3mp built in camera and super fast 802.11n internet connection makes this product ideal for skype video chatting, or just surfing the internet. The pictures I take with the camera always come out crystal clear! I also have tons of movies stored on mine, since the Eee Top is way more energy efficient than my PC.

The way this thing is designed, I think it can be whatever you want it to be. It's portable enough to move from room to room easily. It's powerful enough for an average person to use it as a desktop computer. And the touchscreen is just fun.

I would have preferred a wireless keyboard. The one that came with it is nice and works well, but being tethered to the computer by the wire is a pain.

No optical drive. It's not a problem for me, I already have an external and it's as easy as 'plug and play' to connect it when I want to use it. But it might be a consideration for someone else before buying.

The touchscreen software is pretty good, but the little 'pop-out' toolbar at the side can be incredibly annoying. I think I'm getting used to working around it now.

On the upside, setup was amazingly simple. It took about 1 minute to hook up to my wireless network. It was, by far, the easiest new computer setup I've ever been through.

The selection of software that came preloaded is really great. It's a nice variety and I'm finding that I use some of the programs more than I would have expected. Of course, since it runs XP, I'm able to load any other programs that I want.

So overall, I'm happy with the Eee Top. I would recommend it.

This touchscreen works well for very basic computer, internet and email functions in addition to the build in software apps. With the Atom processeor it is by no means a screamer however for the money it is great value. It is a good looking and functional appliance. The touchscreen works as expected and also comes with a nice keyboard and mouse.
