One of the best bargains out there
I was one of the "holdouts", I didn't believe the FCC was serious this time about the DTV changeover and I waited till the last day and then some. I called them up and ordered a converter box, which was a piece of s***. It broke with 2 weeks of me owning it, trust me they are not worth your time.
So I was without TV for a few more weeks and then I was doing my weekly shopping trip to Target when I found this TV, went home and did a little research then went back and bought it. What a TV for $200. It includes all your legacy connectors like BNC, composite, component, s-video and even includes (2) HDMI connectors. All the different inputs are selectable via the remote and the buttons on the side.
Picture quality is excellent, not at the level of a Sony Bravia or a Samsung, the only other 2 brands of LCD TV's I would even bother with, but close Don't get me wrong, Pioneer and Sharp make excellent TV's, but with these three you get comparable quality for a lot less. This tv has 2 stereo speakers in the back, you definitely want to get external speakers or use some kind of receiver as the sound is somewhat muffled.
Oh and for setup they include a giant, foldout poster but you don't even need that. Unpack it, put the stand on, plug the antenna (if you are using OTA like me) plug it into the wall and follow the prompts for language and channel scanning.
As for the size I could have purchased a 32" tv for about $500, but if you are a single person like me, no kids and rarely have people over then there is no point in getting anything bigger. I have nothing to prove to people, that is what some people out there buy huge tv's for, to show off to other people. This sits right next to my bedstand, the 32" crt monster is outside hooked up to the Xbox 360.

Outstanding HDTV
Using this set with an off-air antenna. Excellent picture quality and a very sensitive tuner. Pulled in 4 more channels than the Toshiba and the picture was sharper. More important, the volume level is great on a digital channel where some sets fail because of low volume levels. This was a refurbed set and I couldn't behappier with it.

Left Some Things Out!
A very nice little TV with an excellent picture. My gripe is that it doesn't seem like a complete TV. By that I mean that they have PiP on the remote, but it is deactivated on the TV. There is no ZOOM on the TV, but there's a button on the remote. Gives you a message saying the feature is not available. Also, there is no screen size adjustment. You get what the broadcaster gives you. Just that has to get some people upset. There is no Analog Audio Out (red & white RCA). They raised the price $50 since yesterday. That will surely keep those sitting on the fence to chose another brand. The 19 inch Toshiba is a much better choice. It has an excellent picture and all the features Visio left out. Also, it's slightly less expensive. BL

Review reflects use as a conventional television
If you have an HD cable connection or can receive sufficient channels through an external antenna, the Vizio provides a very satisfactory picture but sound that is unsatisfactory. In our case an extra HD box would run about $16 / month, which is too much to spend for a kitchen television. Unfortunately, switching between antenna use and non HD cable is very awkward. The result is we use the TV as a conventional set. The picture is not nearly as good as the small CRT set it replaced. It is washed out and colors are flat and can not be improved with adjustment. The sound was so poor that I connected a small hifi to the unit via the earphone jack, which did greatly improve the sound. My impression is that other 19" sets share these deficiencies.

very good
This 19" vizio was perfect for our needs. This item is lightweight, easy to install. The picture quality could be a bit sharper but perfect for a spare tv in kitchen or extra room. All in all, we are happy with it.
