Great Antenna - Highly Recommend

(5 out of 5) by A. Pebworth on Mar 2, 2009
This antenna picks up dozens of channels, is small and portable. I have a an AMD TV stick for my laptop and can connect this antenna and watch TV almost anywhere.
It's very easy to use, just connect to any HDTV ready TV or converter box and that's it.

I owned the TERK amplified antenna and this one is less of an eye sore and works as good or better.

I would recommend this antenna to anyone who may not want to pay to watch cable TV or needs a backup when the cable goes out.

Really Cool Laptop Antenna Too!

(5 out of 5) by AJMan on Apr 16, 2009 (CA USA)
I originally bought this antenna for my Panasonic 50" HDTV. I wanted to axe my cable service, since it seems I am paying for 300 channels I don't really watch, plus they want to charge me extra for HD programs. Since HD is available for free over the air, it makes sense. My homeowner's association doesn't allow roof antennas, so my only option was to find a good indoor antenna. The PowerQ antenna worked very well, after a little experimentation with positioning, I was able to get 29 channels with a good signal.

Taking it one step further, I thought I would buy one of those USB tuners to watch tv on my laptop and see how well the PowerQ antenna would work with it. I got the Hauppauge WinTV 950Q from Costco for $50 on sale. Using the feeble antenna that comes with the tuner, I could only get 3 stations that I considered 'watchable' without the picture breaking up. I swapped the PowerQ antenna, did a scan, and it got 20 channels! Since then, I bought a second one and use it to watch TV while I am waiting at the airport. Reception can vary a bit from location to location, but my investment has more than paid for itself. I highly recommend this product. The HDTV quality available for free is amazing.

The PowerQ antenna works better than anything I've tried before

(5 out of 5) by Helmut on Mar 16, 2009 (Orange County, CA)
This antenna worked great on my 40" Panasonic TV. Compared to other antennas from Terk or RCA, this one is much smaller and performs better than expected. I was able to pick up over 25 stations in my area the first time. I have it powered with AC adapter that comes with it, so I just leave it on all the time. The picture is amazing at the full 1080i which people that have cable or satellite have to pay extra for. It's goodbye cable bill for me!

Works better than I ever imagined ...

(5 out of 5) by K. Block on Mar 13, 2009
I purchased the PowerHD antenna for a TV located in my home where cable was not a practical option. The setup was easy, the quality great! I am amazed at how much digital programming is broadcast for free! The small size of the antenna is a plus, making it low profile and portable.

Works better than what I expected

I am glad I finally tried HD antennas after watching analog on my 4 year old LCD HDTV, so you must know how that is. LOL. But I always felt that getting digital cable is just too much when I barely watch tv as it is.

I wanted to see what the rave is about and finally gave in. I went with the cheaper HD antenna route and initially bought the RCA ANT1450B Multi-Directional Digital Flat Amplified Home Theater Antenna locally. I was excited to pick up over 10 local HD channels right away and a few ones (PBS) that were intermittent. I felt that this experience could be better so I went and did more research and checked reviews and opinions in Amazon.com. Then I saw the PowerQ Antenna and ordered it 3 days after I purchased the RCA. Installed it last night and voila! The weaker signals from the RCA are now full blown clear! It's amazing how a small gadget can have stronger reception; even when it is turned off. This is probably as good or even better than most antennas in similar price range. I also like the fact that the antenna is small and easily hidden around or on the tv. And it is also mobile to take with you for use with a laptop or to use at a another HDTV.

Only downside for me is that the coax cable that comes with is is rather short but luckily I do have alot of extra longer coax cables sitting at home.

Overall I am more than impressed since it performed better than expected. So it seems the RCA is going back to the local retail store!
