This unit is great, everything i needed for my truck. It has enough audio options to tune any stereo setup.
I only gave 4 stars because the eq is only 3 bands "still good for tuning just not as precise."
The visual option on here are great, the video quality is great. The custom picture background is a bit fuzzy, but not so much i hate it.
Also warning to many ford owners or at least f150- you will need to do heavy sub dash modification to make this fit.
Over all i highly recommend this unit.
-After having this installed for a few months now:
when playing from my ipod occasional there is a "skip" in the music, not sure if it is a loading thing, but it happens rarely.
-also if you try to skip tracks to fast using the ipod it can get a bit sluggish.
having trouble getting the ipod videos to show up. I probably just need to do some research into this.
3 months after install my unit has now been stolen.....
on the other hand considering the pros vs cons and comparing to other models i just order another one. only downside to it now is no removable face :(

Great unit at a great price.
This is the best bang for the buck unit I have purchased. Sound is great, picture is clear and bright. Touch screen sensitivity is good and accurate. Installed in a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with little difficulty. Parking brake wire is easily bypassed with a switch, but must be flipped off then back on everytime you use it. This is not a big deal for me and almost becomes second nature, just like turning the ignition key. You can also use a normally closed pushbutton switch that you would just have to tap once, but I like the option of disabling the video if for some reason someone else was driving my car.
Would buy again.

good overall
Happy with the receiver. The biggest drawbacks include a display that is not nearly bright enough to see well on a sunny day. Despite attempts at adjusting the brightness and contrast the unit remains weak in this regard.
Other than that it is a solid performer 3 weeks into install.

No Phonebook entries or video with iPhone 3g
Purchased the Pioneer AVH 4100 and had it professionally installed. The unit has been great except that they never could get it to play video from my iPhone3g nor could they get it to download my phonebook entries into the unit. Has anyone else had the same issues? And before you ask, yes I'm using the correct cable, the pioneer CD-IU200V cable.
Very Good Unit
Very pleased with the Pioneer 4100 DVD thus far. It has been installed in my 2006 Toyota Solara Convertible for about one week and I love it! Prior to installing the 4100, I changed the factory speakers to Kicker and added a Kicker amp. The sound was improved, but not great. However, once I installed the new 4100 head unit,I was extremely happy with the sound quality and video. If i crank the volume to 15, it is pretty loud. Movies sound great with the upgraded speakers and amp!
I almost installed a subwoofer/amp, but it was not neeeded! What I have now is perfect! I also installed the bluetooth, ipod adapter, with steering wheel control. The bluetooth is OK, but I am not overly impressed with the sound quality and most people say I sound far away. I often use my phones microphone. I haven't used the Ipod connection yet since I still need to purchase one. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this unit to anyone.
