Almost a perfect ten, or 4 stars.
After searching web for a device to play music cds and my tape cassettes, my SD cards with news podcasts, my own mp3 cds, and AM chat radio - all of that in one body - I finally bought this product. I did not expect to like this device, as I did not like the way it looked, did not like the colors, and did not like the size. Bought it anyway, totally expecting to feel disappointment every time I used it. After a week, I fell in love. Took me about that much time of using it every day to get used to its layout, the buttons placement. By the end of a week, I would manage it in the dark, which is where it mostly got used after I went to bed. By touch, I could load cds, tapes, find radio stations, switch from AM to FM, record from radio, pause music cds and skip through them, and so on. I would not have bought it at a higher price the first purchase, yet now I think I would even pay twice as much. I can only praise it now. Even so, I would make the slightly few changes so it would meet Perfection - if it even deserved changes, which it in fairness does not. So I will not state my picky edits. If this device for whatever reason fails within a year or two, I think I would look to buy the same machine again. By the way I got used to the color, the size, the shape, and most my other pre-complaints. Only one thing continues to nag me and I have a solution - put a spot of glue on the power cord where it slips often out the back. Four stars easy.

Simply, does not work...
I bought this unit, `cause I liked the idea of having boombox that plays MP3 both from CDs and flush memory.
Unfortunately, the first unit did not play music from memory slots. It freezes while it plays. So, I returned the unit and asked for a replacement. The second unit turned out even worse: it does not play any CD and freezes while it plays music from a memory card.
I thought a reason for that could be my CDs and/or a memory card. So checked CDs on my DVD player and the memory card on my TV LN46a850. All CDs played and the memory card played as well.
I returned the second unit for a full refund. I do NOT suggest buying it.

Good for the price
I purchased this to use in my babies room and it does work pretty nicely. It's small and has good sound. I had a really hard time finding a CD player that would play MP3s, and this one does. So it does what it advertises and the price is right....
But: It feels a little cheaply made, the controls for the selection of CD, Radio etc, are a little inconvenient with that being the only switch that is located at the bottom of the right side, rather than in front with all the other controls; the lighted LED doesn't display when the radio is playing. The station control is toward the upper left side, sort of hard to see and tune in. But the worst part is the fit of the power cord, which really doesn't fit properly and has to be just right to power on and stay on.
Still, it isn't expensive, it does work and it does play MP3 CDs, so I'd buy it again.

Pass on this, good idea but not good product.
Plays the formats described but cannot randomize more than 10 songs. Also clips most songs to around 2 minutes (have never timed it). After a few songs play a song goes the duration but no music is heard and next song is normal???. This is a great idea but this product has too many flaws and should not be sold.

A hard-to-find item
It's nearly impossible to find something that does what this boombox does. I needed something to play CDs, MP3 and cassettes in my astronomical observatory. After much searching -- not to mention frustration -- this thing saved the day and without sucking all the juice out of my inverter. It doesn't have earth-shaking bass response, nor is it particularly loud. If you must have that, expect to not only pay more, but also lose either the MP3 or the cassette capability.
