Great sound, Great size, LEDs are bit much

(5 out of 5) by The Garage on May 7, 2009 (Stratford, NJ United States)
I've purchased two of these, one for home, and one for a training room at work. The PylePro has great sound and it's simple to operate. If you need a small amp this fills the bill. You should know that the blue LEDs are VERY bright; They light up the whole living room. Since the case is metal I cut a small strip of magnetized rubber that I put over the lights when we're using it for movies because the lights are annoying. On the other hand if you like bright blue LEDs this is a 6-star item.

Assessment of PylePro PTA3 amplifier transaction.#

(4 out of 5) by Albert E. Rifino on Sep 3, 2009 (Central NJ)
I very happily ordered and rapidly received a PYLE PRO PTA3
mini amplifier. It was exactly what I wanted. However, after only two weeks it died. With PYLE's service center permission, I repacked the amplifier in the original packaging
and sent it to the Brooklyn, NY address. No response for 3 week. I called the service phone number and talked to a Kenny Low and he promised to return my call. I haven't heard a word, so today I sent a letter to the Brooklyn,NY address and begged them for some attention. I heard from very reliable big time, audio professionals that the PYLE equipment is good when it works, but it is not reliable.

I'm very anxiously to try the amplifier again if they respond. I told them I want a new amplifier or my money back. I think you should honestly re-evaluate their dependability in their product and their service. Will I hear from you ?!

perfect size and power

(5 out of 5) by Isawit on Jun 26, 2009 (Katy , Texas USA)
I am very pleased with the Pyle Home PTA3 Mini 2 x 75-Watt Stereo Power Amplifier. I had been looking for a small sound system that my I pod could dock in. I was unhappy with the sound especially the stereo separation of all of these portable sound dock type devices. So instead I purchased the Pyle Home PTA3 Mini 2 x 75-Watt Stereo Power Amplifier along with Sony SS-B3000 Bookshelf Speakers with 8 Woofer (Pair) and Cables To Go 4-Feet RCA Stereo to Dock Connector Cable for iPod. I got the sound I wanted for a total price of about 200 dollars for amp, speakers and cable. I have been using this system in my home office where it puts out lots of sound at a one third volume setting. I then moved it out to the game room (a former two car garage) where it produced great sound at a one half power volume setting. I liked it so much I ordered another amp, speakers, and cable so that I could have a system in the home office and another in the game room. The Cables To Go 4-Feet RCA Stereo to Dock Connector Cable for iPod uses line output from your I pod and is not effected by the volume setting on the Ipod. Guest have quickly docked their Ipod to the cable for a quick change in music selection. The Pyle Home PTA3 Mini 2 x 75-Watt Stereo Power Amplifier has very basic controls, power on-off, volume, balance, bass, treble, input selection. The blue Led output indicator lights are so bright it hurts to look at them straight on.

Worth every penney!

I bought the Pyle PTA-3 (75 watt) for my basement "studio".
It's driving some old PA style speakers with 1/4 plugs.

This amp has plenty of power - it can fill my house at 1/2 volume.
Distortion? - not until about 3/4 turned up...which is too loud for a small space anyway.
So far I haven't really run it more than 1/4.
I can't imagine anyone comlaining about distortion unless their speakers can't handle the Pyle wattage.

One suggestion for the speaker wires...use solder - better volume and sound.

The LEDs are bright. But I didn't buy the unit for light...I bought it for sound. Everything A-OK on that front!

You definately want something from the PTA series if you plan on plugging in more than 1 input.
I have a CD player, and Digital Recorder in mine right now.
The PCA series would probably be OK if you only had 1 source.

Nice amp

Great little amp for the price as all I wanted to do was drive a pair of small speakers, it does a great job.

The only detractor is the totally annoying bright flashing blue LED's on the front of the unit when it's in use, those really suck.
