Great camera..

I've had this camera for 6 months now, it's been in all weather conditions, and it still works perfectly! There are many different settings for all lighting environments, including the underwater setting which takes GREAT PHOTOS. No water has gotten in, and it doesn't even have a scratch on it (and I've dropped it many times already). Great purchase.

Great Camera, I have a Digital SLR but this one is compact conveient and takes great pictures. The video isn't much to write home about but it is ok. anyway if you want to take video, buy a video camera. Also, if you plan on using it under water word to the wise GET the neoprene cover its worth the [...] bucks and will save you on scratches and water damage... I learned the hard way, thats what I get for being cheap.
Does what it's meant to

I will leave the extensive assessment to others. This is my third Olympus Stylus Tough camera -- my first was an older model, and my second is at the bottom of the Connecticut River (darn!). I use it while kayaking, skiing and snorkeling. Some people have commented that this camera does not take the BEST quality photos, but they are missing the point. It takes very good photos where you'd never bring another camera. When I snorkle I dive down as far as I can manage -- 12, maybe 15 feet -- when I kayak the camera gets banged around, and when I ski I don't worry about the camera. When I get home, I can adjust the picture quality on my computer if needed. I have tons of wonderful photos I'd otherwise miss out on.
On a recent trip to the Caribbean I had the camera in the water every day. At night I'd rinse off the salt as per Oly's instructions. The last day the camera died -- when I opened the battery compartment there was a bit of seawater inside. The memory card was fine, though. When I got home I sent the camera, still under warranty, to Olympus. 2 days later, UPS delivered a brand new camera from Olympus -- no questions, no argument. Every now and then a defective product gets past quality control, so it's nice to know Olympus completely stands behind their product.
I am very happy with this camera and would recommend it without hesitation. Be sure to put it through its paces while still under warranty, and you'll be happy with it.
I was skeptical but am pleasantly suprised...

This camera has it all! I was really nervous to make such a big decision but am really happy with this camera. It's a real gem!

I am a US Army sniper, and I just want to say that anyone who thinks about buying this camera; DO IT!
I"m writing this review from my tent while artillery is going off, so I promise you I'm not sitting on a base doing nothing. I've taken this camera with me on every mission so far and aside from using for random pictures, I also use it for recon. It's better then the one the army gave me to work with. The crush proof is exactly that. I've done things to this camera that would have destroyed any other camera you could buy. I've crossed rivers up to my neck and yeah, no problem there.
My only issues with it is the damn flash is so bright. But besides that there is nothing I can say bad about it. And believe me I've put it to the test over here.
The best part is the pictures, they're breathtakingly sharp and beautiful. And the panoramic option in manual mode has helped me gather intel in one shot where I would have needed 5.
Take it from someone who is in the worst conditions for electronics, this camera is with every penny.
