Just bought this monitor yesterday and i was surprise that a non reliable brand had a nice picture on it. It was bigger than i thought it was, but very detailed.

3 yr warranty...Excellent display...affordable price...

I was impressed immediately by the crisp sharp look of the display. I did my homework before purchasing this monitor and the specs compare to that of the higher end widescreens displays on the market..Thumbs up!!Acer X233H bid 23-Inch LCD Monitor

Died after 5 months, replacement parts are substandard

(2 out of 5) by K. Vincent on Nov 4, 2009 (Dearborn Heights, MI United States)
This is my first LCD monitor. When I got it and set it up, everything was fantastic. Great picture, huge screen, stars in my eyes, blah, blah, blah.

Unfortunately, like other reviews I have read (now, after the fact), my monitor died after 5 months of use. Turn it on, couple seconds of splash and then Black Screen of Death.

Sent it back in for warranty repair (at my own cost for shipping) and they replaced the screen plus a bunch of internals. Sadly for me, the screen they installed has four small bubbles right in the plastic which obstruct the picture. At first they looked like dead pixels but touching them revealed an actual bump in the screen. So now I have to send it back again (at my own cost for shipping... again) and hope they fix it right this time. Although, after reading some of the repair stories in other reviews, I have my doubts about that.

In short: seems like a great monitor but any money you save on the purchase will be spent on shipping it back to the factory for repairs every six months.

Buy a Samsung.

Unreliable noisy LCD display

(1 out of 5) by Erick Martinez on Sep 23, 2009 (Mexico, Distrito Federal Mexico)
I bought this monitor about four months ago and since the first time I turned it on I notice this loud noise, I wanted to return it to immediately but the people from the store said it wasn't an issue and later I found this noise was very common with this screen. I managed to live with it noticing that if I change the settings to Image mode the noise volume decreases, still I couldn't believe my LCD was louder than my CPU.

To my bad fortune, last time I used this display, it entered on stand by mode and when it went back to operation mode I found some weird noise I haven't heard before, after that it showed acer logo and a few seconds of a dim screen of my desktop and then the lamp turned off, I knew it was the lamp since the white elements were still somehow noticeable on the display.

I am sending it to warranty but I wish I could get another model, I think this is the worst purchase I ever made. Like other customer said I would give it zero stars if I could

when it works its a wonderful 1080p monitor

(1 out of 5) by teeemack on Sep 23, 2009 (Stone Mountain, GA)
I was very impressed when I bought this monitor back in March 2009. It has a very nice wide 23inch screen, it worked very well with my blu-ray player and HP computer but after only 5 months it stop working. I get a one or two second view of the desktop and then it goes black. I sent it in to be repaired under warranty and after getting it back it worked for one month and the same problem started happening again! I have never bought anything in my life that stopped working a few months after buying it. I always stuck to big names like Sony, HP, Toshiba etc... I thought I would give the lessor known acer a try..my advise stick to known companies at least their products last at least a year!
