Good Quality
Overall quality is good. Setup was easy however I found my wireless system did not connect 30 ft away so connected with eithernet. Some difficulity trying to understand how to set up my stations on the web site so they would download into the radio. Gives a good clear signal where I have difficulty receiving with an am radio. Only problem is with one station. At times it has difficulty connecting and goes into a loop of "connecting" - "retrying". Overall I am happy with the unit. Just took a little time to figure it all out.

Good radio, but...
This radio works fine, the only problem I've run into so far is, the company who supplies the radio stations, Reciva, has some problems. There is a whole bunch of stations that they don't have in their lineup, which have been streaming on the internet for a long time. When I tried to add some of them as instructed by the owner's manual, Reciva's website indicated they "passed the test" or something to that effect, and should be available. But they aren't. I am still considering returning the radio. I bought it so I could hear certain stations, and I can't hear them. I even contacted two of those stations to see if they could straighten out Reciva. So far I've heard nothing. Sanyo customer service said there was nothing they could do.

Very Satisfied
I expected a fairly hastle free setup as I've setup quite a few wireless devices in my time. This was not the easiest by any means but I did get it working fairly quickly nonetheless. Entering a 63 digit WPA2 code by hand is not fun but it's my own fault for allowing windows to pick the code for me years ago.
I am satisfied overall. I would probably agree with many of the gripes in the other reviews but most do not concern me. I bought this radio to listen to local AM stations. Here in New York there is so much AM traffic it is almost impossible to get clear reception over the air. It is strange to listen to AM stations without the annoying hissing and crackling. The R227 definitely met my primary requirement.
The missing star is due to the one gripe that does bother me. The start up time. It simply takes too long from start button to tuning in a station. I know, it has to connect to my network and contact the radio station and I'm sure if I timed it it would be less than a minute, but...
In conclusion, I'd buy it again.

Almost Perfect, but read on if you have specific radio stations that you want to listen to.
Bought this radio for my parents after reading all the good reviews online. Like most others' comments, it is easy to use, finds the WiFi network quickly, tons of stations to choose from, solid build quality, etc. These are all good and true. The only problem (which may not matter to you) is that it accesses the "reciva.com" to search for available stations and it does not allow you to manually type in a web address if the station of your interest is not listed.
For people who mainly search the list and listen to whatever is available there, there are tons of stations to choose from. For my parents who are from Taiwan, I know a certain stations that they like to listen to, so I checked the "reciva.com" before the purchase. I found 47 stations from Taiwan listed in early August 2009. Most of them did not pass the so called "Daily streaming test by Reciva", yet some of them are accessable if I try to listen from the links on its web site. When I received the radio, it is up and running in 5 minutes. However, I could only see 12 stations from Taiwan, and most of the stations of my parent's interest are not listed. As much as I like this cute product, I choose to return it the same week.
I checked the "Reciva.com" again today. It now only lists 22 stations from Taiwan, but all of them passed its "daily streaming test". I am guessing that the list is updated frequently, and they only show those stations that are accessable to this radio now. This is a good move as it reduces any misunderstanding by the consumers.
To summarize, if you just want a easy to use internet radio and you don't have a specific station in mind, this is almost perfect. Get it and enjoy. If you have specific radio station in mind, check the web site first. If it's not there, check back often. I still think it's a 5 star product because this has more to do with the radio station and less to do with the product itself.
Hope this helps.

Very nice product!
Very happy with this radio. Set up and running in a matter of minutes. Registered and displaying "My stations" in a matter of a few minutes more.
My previous radio is an old Linksys, which is quite dated. It did not have much buffering, so drop outs were frequent. With the Sanyo, there is ample buffering to get past all but the most severe ISP "hiccups".
My only complaint is the alarm - it sounds through the speaker, so if you use the radio with a pillow speaker, it is not really useful as an alarm - unless, of course, your ear just happens to be on the speaker in the morning!
All in all, very pleased with both the product and Amazon's quick service in getting it to me.
