I purchased this monitor well aware of the problems with the base that have been reported both here and over on [...]. My goal was to replace my current monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 204T) with this, and in the process replace the base of the new monitor with that of my old monitor. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible as while the attachment on the back of the 2343 is similar to that of my 204T, it is not identical. I guess this is how they get you to buy new parts. Oh Well.

My real complaint, however, is with the viewing angle. I had assumed that being a far newer model, the viewing angle would be superior to my older screen - but this is not the case. You really do get what you pay for with the 2343BWX - a cheap monitor with decent real estate, but a terrible viewing angle and a cheap/annoying base and bevel. The bevel is quite shiny and the inside edge reflects what is being displayed on the screen and this is quite distracting. The base is too low for my preferences, and I've had to raise the monitor on a stack of books - hardly sleek.

All in all, I can't complain too much. The monitor was cheap, and I got what I paid for.

I bought two of these monitors to replace aging Scepter 20" widescreens. Most of the monitors available today only offer 1080 pixels vertically. I wanted more pixel real estate, having three 1600 x 1200 Dell monitors on my Work PC. The extra resolution on these Samsung monitors were perfect for my home Dell Studio XPS with Radeon 4800 graphics card. With DVI connections, the displays are crisp, and the colors bright and clear.

The lack of vertical adjustment on the stands is not a problem to my set up, and the blue power LEDs are not an issue - my home office is like Disneyland at night anyway - sooooo many flickering LEDs. For those for whom it's a problem, try turning them off and saving power.

Seriously, if you need as many pixels as you can get, and you don't want to mess around with a quad video card, these monitors are for you!

I have never been more pleased with a product. This is a great monitor for the price, very good color, no dead pixels and a sleak design that is pleasing. I would recommend this monitor and the online retailer.

I have a four monitor Samsung setup and love the performance. Three are 2343's, the other is a Syncmaster 245BW. The adjustment bar on the bottom of the 2343 is a bit difficult to use because the slightest touch changes the menu readout. The 245BW is a lot easier to adjust. But I would not change my decision. Samsumg is terrific!

I've only had this monitor for 3 weeks, but it seems like a great monitor so far. The only complaint I have is Amazon's pricing. I paid $277 for it, and just 3 weeks later, I find it is now $219. That's $58 less than I paid, and if I had known, I would have waited. Such a bummer!
