This monitor is absolutely beautiful. The picture is stunning right out of the box. I haven't even touched a factory setting, so I imagine it will only improve. I have tested this monitor on many different video games along with a few ebooks that I read on the computer. With this wide monitor you can very comfortably place two pages of any book side by side and see them both very clearly.

The one thing you will not get with this purchase is an HDMI input. If you planned on using HDMI to connect an XBOX or DVD player, look for a different monitor (there are lots out there that do come with HDMI for about the same price)! It will easily connect to your home computer tho (DVI and standard analog outputs).

Bought from local store. Only problem is a very annoying buzzing sound when turned on and found out it only buzzes when the brightness is < 99. When you adjust the brightness to 100 the buzzing sounds goes away but at 100 the screen is blindly bright. It gets very annoying when you are trying to read an article online with that bzzzzzzzz sound in the background!!

I returned it and exchanged for another one, still same problem. I will be finding another monitor. FYI, I also have a Samsung 2494HM and no buzzing sound at all (was trying to get another monitor for a dual monitor setup)

This LCD Monitor, I would have to say, is just about the clearest I have seen in my life. It features FULL 2048 x 1152 Resolution (Past HD!) on DVI Input. The Frame is beautifully made, made minimally visible, yet with some gloss. The large screen stands out, making this Beauty perfect for any room Decor.

Definitely buy this monitor. It is well worth the money, and you will NOT regret getting it.

Just got this today and it is FANTASTIC! This is my first review of any product - that is how much I like this monitor. It is just the right size- not too big and not too small. I especially like the MultiScreen addon that allows you to divide the screen into 2 (or more) parts. I have my email program on one side and internet browser on the other. I have also set Word on one side and Excell on the other. The resolution is the best I have ever seen - usually I cannot use the highest resolution on a monitor because the small print is too hard to read. The clarity of this one - well you have to see it to believe it. Amazon service is fantastic - purchased on Wed and got it the following Monday - w/ FREE shipping! This unit replaces a Samsung 19in 4:3 montitor I bought in 2005 for $550 (1220 resolution).
I will be buying more of these because everyone who sees them in my office want one. Guess I will have to keep my door locked!!!!

This is the 3rd Samsung video product that I have purchased in the last 6 months(also have 52" LCD TV and Blu-ray player) and so far, so good with all of them. I bought this monitor for the samsung reputation and for the price, and was not disapointed. The 5ms responce time works very well along with a newer up to date video card, really no visible lag. The 20,000 to 1 contrast and the very high resolution(2048 X 1152) provide crystal clear images, with photo's or watching video. I, (like some other reviews) thought it would take time to get used to the 16:9 aspect ratio, but that wasn't the case with myself either, the large 23" screen provides all the extra viewing space you need. There are over 20 video adjustments availiable if you want to customize your picture.
The stand and the picture frame are not the most attractive, but I can live with that, its not ugly, just a little plain, it swivels but does not tilt forward or back. I also wished it had HDMI hookup to use as a emergency TV, but it does'nt, I would have to buy a DVI to HDMI adapter cable to hook the monitor up to my cable box, other than these very small things, this a very nice monitor for the price, outstanding video quality rules over any little discrepancies that I may have.......
