Outstanding Quality Skin for EEE PC!
(5 out of 5) by DWales on Apr 7, 2009 (USA)I am very pleased over the quality of the Decal Girl skins. I purchased this skin directly from the maker (Decal Girl) and highly recommend products made by them vrs cheap imitations.
Previously, I purchased cheap imitation decal skins on ebay and was dissatisfied in every way. I finally bit the bullet and decided to try this skin instead. First of all, the quality is heads and shoulders above the cheap imitations. The skin goes on easily and lines up perfectly. Does not easily stretch which makes for easy installation. The graphics are GORGEOUS! And it feels nice. The cheap ones felt bulky and cheap comparatively. Worth the money to personalize your EEE PC (Decal Girl makes a skin for just about everything!) and to protect the finish of the EEE PC which is easily scratched. Cuts down on the fingerprint problem with the glossy case of the newer EEE PC's. The skin doesn't appear to scratch, which is a nice thing.
Pros:
* High Quality
* Gorgeous graphics
* Clear coat protects graphics and gives a high quality look.
* Fits perfectly, lines on on holes/lines correctly.
* No sticky residue if removing.
Cons:
* NONE. I wish I had tried this product first.
NOTE: From the manufacturers site, here are some install tips to help with the application of these skins on laptops/netbooks:
Laptop Skin Installation
With such a large surface area, a laptop skin installation can be a little tricky for just one person. We've found it works best to have 2 people install this skin.
1. Start with a clean laptop and a clean, flat working surface. To clean your laptop's external surface, we recommend a damp lint-free cloth. Basically, you want to make sure your laptop is dry and free from any oil, dirt, or residue before beginning the skin installation.
2. Carefully remove the laptop skin from its backing, with each person holding 2 corners. Hold the skin taut (but don't pull!) and line it up over the top of the laptop, aligning the corners.
3. Set the skin down gently and put light pressure in the center of the skin to bond it to the surface.
4. Working from the center, gently bond the skin across the laptop from the center to the outside edges, pressing out any bubbles.
5. If you need to trim the skin to fit, bond the skin well around all edges first, then use a sharp utility knife (such as an Exacto knife with a new blade), and gently run the blade down the edge that needs to be trimmed.
If the skin folds onto itself as you're lining it up, the best way to unstick it is a quick snap. Don't pull or yank too hard, or the skin will stretch. A quick controlled tug (like removing a bandaid) is all that's needed.

Skin fits my ASUS Eee PC 1000HE perfectly
(5 out of 5) by Pat from Herndon on May 20, 2009 (Herndon, VA United States)I chose the "apocalypse blue" skin (the lightening on the blue background) to go on my blue ASUS Eee PC 1000HE. The background of the skin blends right into the color of the netbook at some parts of the skin edges, making it seem an integrated part of the netbook. That is exactly the effect I was going for. The skin was in perfect condition and I had no trouble applying it. At first I wasn't going to apply the separate skin part that fits around the touch pad because I didn't want to cover up the meaning of the little led lights on the netbook - but gee, the skin has those symbols lightly etched right on the skin - great attention to detail! Excellent product.
