Luckily, the MicroSD card came with a standard SD adapter as it is needed for the two to interface properly. However, I've had no problems reading/writing to my microSD card. I cant vouch for any other memory formats as I dont have any other cards with which to test.

Only real downside is that it's think enough to not fit easily in the usb socket on my keyboard.
Worth the single dollar I spent on it though.
