Good product

This case does a great job. As other reviewers have noted, it provides a very snug fit, and the removable bottom portion facilitates docking. One thing I would like to add is that it has an ideal texture to its exterior surface: it's not super clingy like the silicone ones that attract lint and make it difficult to remove from your pocket, but on the flip side it provides a better grip than the slippery chrome of the ipod or some of the smooth cases out there.

As for the reviewer who had a problem because she removed the case with screwdrivers and damaged her iPod, I find that by putting your thumbnail in the lower edge of the Ipod and pulling the case gently with the other hand, the case can be removed quickly and without wrecking anything.

Altogether a great case, and the best one I have seen yet for this Ipod.

Great hard case

(5 out of 5) by Olyguy on Nov 26, 2008 (Olympia, WA)
I tried various cases for my new 2gn itouch that included the silicon slip-on, leather wallet style, and hard plastic. I feel this one fits my itouch the best as it is tight around the edges of the main screen. The slide-on section holds securely, but is easy to take if needed to dock. The rubberized backing is the biggest plus since it prevents slippage but still has a nice smooth feel to it unlike the silicon cases. All controls and plug-in are easily accessible.

Really good quality, works fine

I was a little concerned about this case, since it looked a bit flimsier than expected and I hadn't purchased the iPod yet so I didn't know how it would fit and look. The bottom section that slides looked like it might not stay in place.

However, I got the iPod today (iPod Touch 2G) and it fits very well with full access to all ports. The slider on the bottom stays put as it should. Would definitely buy again. It has a nice feel to it as well. Cost is slightly higher than what I feel it's worth, though.

Decent, does the job nicely

I spent a long time doing research @ iLounge and @ the Apple store before settling on this case. Most cases for the iPod Touch are overpriced and trade off protectiveness for convenience or vice versa. The Slider is no exception - it provides a certain degree of protection from scratches and some mild shock absorbency, but it's not something that'll allow you to throw your iPod willy-nilly into a bag or backpack. However, the case has several features to recommend it - a nice feel so that the Touch doesn't slide from my hands while I'm playing Smule's ocarina app and an easily removable bottom cover so that I can dock it in a older speaker that leaves no extra space for a case. Once the Touch has been in the case for awhile, it becomes difficult to remove, but not that hard if you grip the bottom with a rubber glove or rubber jar lid opener. I had no trouble using the case in conjunction with my screen protector - Power Support Crystal film set for iPod touch 2G. I also slipped a loop of lanyard between the iPod and the case so that the loop protrudes from the back of the case between the top and bottom sections (see photo). The fit is tight enough so that I can attach a neck cord to the loop and feel confident that the iPod won't hit the ground if I drop it while playing the ocarina app. My WiFi finder app indicates a slight loss of wifi signal strength when the iPod is in the case.

probably the best ipod touch case out there...

(4 out of 5) by renaissance_guy on Jul 4, 2009
This case might be the best ipod case I have ever owned... and I've purchased at least 5 different cases for various ipods over the years. It is incredibly sturdy and has a very snug fit (but isn't too difficult to get on and off, which is a huge plus if you have various docks and car mounts like I have). Best of all, and I cannot stress this enough... it is VERY low-profile... which means your ipod is still going to feel great in your hand and will still slide easily into your pocket.

I am very impressed with this case and was lucky to get a significantly marked-down unit at my local retailer.... I would never have forked over the thirtyish-dollar retail price otherwise. Personally, I think it is prohibitively expensive (the only reason for the 4 stars)... and I don't see why incase is not opening up their target market by dropping the price... but hey, I'm not running the company.

If you want the best hardshell case on the market... and if price is no option, don't hesitate to get this case... if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, I would strongly suggest a silicone skin with the most coverage... the silicone skins that just hug the edges do NOT fit well in my experience.

happy shopping!
