Great HDD Dock.

For the price I paid for I thought this was another generic cheap hdd dock, I was glad that I was wrong. This Dock is amazing. Better than all other major brand hdd dock I have. Totally Solved the problems that I had before, the memory reader that on the dock works wonderfully, which if you would buy it separately would cost $20+

Gets several jobs done

But it's nice to have all of these features in one compact product. I mostly bought it for the hard drive docking station which works well.

It does exactly what it says it will do.
(5 out of 5) by Pete Amend on Jan 26, 2009 (San Diego CA USA)Not much to say about this product. It does exactly what it says it does. I have several SATA drives from my old computers and dislike using enclosures. With this, I just stick the drive in and it immediately gets read.
Besides that, it has USB and card readers for nearly every card available.
It is a fantastic docking station and will problaby buy more so I can have one by each computer (and for quickly moving files between two drives).
I love this docking station and definitely recommend it to others. It feels sturdy and I am sure it will give me many years of use.

An excellent HD dock - plus SO MUCH MORE!
(5 out of 5) by geff pix on Mar 13, 2009 (Tacoma, WA United States)When the internal hard drives on my G4 tower began to telegraph their impending demise, I went shopping for a Hard Drive Dock to hold a 1TB SATA Drive on which to migrate my archived photo files.
At the time, it had not even occured to me that someone would think to combine a HD dock and card reader AND USB port, but WHY NOT? This is a terrific idea and sweeps away one more extra cable from my desktop.
While I'm not able to vouch for the included auto-archiving software (it is PC only) this is a clever, well-made solution to several desktop needs.
Bottom Line: A champion 5-STAR (plug & play) Gizmo!

My card reader is on the front of my computer so I have a long reach to put my camera CF card into the slot. But with this device its right there in front of me. Put a SATA drive in it and you have the perfect backup solution (outside of RAID). Very light weight and it works great out of the box. You can't hot swap drives but if you have a TB drive who needs to. When my external drives die I'll buy another one of these. Data transfer is only as fast as the USB2 will allow but it doesn't have the OS on it so it's no big thing.;
