It sucked

I order two of these adapters. They didn't work in any of our cars. I would NOT recommend for anyone who wants a working product. I guess you get what you pay for with this product (i payed a penny+ 5.98 for shipping):(

For under $3.00 you can't get a better cassette adapter to work with your MP3 player or iPod. While advertised as low noise, there is a certain amount of mechanical noise associated with running it. In addition, it picks up a bit of distortion from time to time, but nothing too serious. All in all, it delivers what it promises: the ability to listen to your device through your outdated stereo equipment. It's worth every penny of the $3.00 it cost me to buy it and have it delivered. (At any price point over $3.00 I think I'd be deducting stars.)

DIDN"T EVEN WORK!

It didn't even work the first time i put it in. It made a God awful sound that was unbareable untill, by some miracle, my tape player spat it out like the **** it is. Don't buy it! Honestly, if you think you're getting a good deal, remember you are only paying a penny for it (PLUS SHIPPING).

I had an old pair from panasonic which broke because of heavy usage. I didnt want to spend 15 or 20 dollars at the store for one of these so I decided to check out amazon. saw this for 19 cents and was pretty much attracted to buy it. with tax and shipping it became 3 dollars. i said to myself eh well this could be a cheap solution. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. it came in the mail in 4 days and went straight to try it out in the car. first thing i noticed that the packaging was very CHEAP. the plastic looked bad and the tape looked like it was used and just quickly put together.

I put it in the stereo and put the volume on my ipod max and speakers low. then played it. it sounded like the bass was gonna explode! so I lowered the ipod volume to half way and increased the car volume. It got a whole lot better. next thing i noticed was that there was static noise. but its not noticeable too much unless the volume is really low.
the tape also made noises in the player like cracky noises.

I kinda feel dissapointed that the thing is not really good quality. but for 3 bucks I guess its a temporary solution to listen to my ipod in the car until i buy a better one in the store. If you have money, dont waste time waiting for this, just go to the store buy the 10 15 or 20 dollar brand version and it should work perfectly. this one has a lot of issues.

it works however and if you can stand tiny static when low volume, bass implosion if the volume is extremely loud and a litte rattling noise. this thing is really worth just 3 dollars (including shipping handling and tax of course)

Not bad at all..

Bought last week. Among the cassette adapter out there I tried this one and philips PH2050W and I can tell you from my own experience that there is not much to compare b/w the two.

First two days I thought this was the worst product as my tape would throw back the cassette- but after some science and post mortems I found that if I reverse the lead wire to go out the other side it was working as a charm.
- why? because my tape was rotating this wheels anticlockwise which was opposite to the orientation of cassette which was creating a 'end of tape' effect to my car cassette player unit causing it to eject in 2 secs. And so I wanted to try out the reverse way (like side B up kinda)- for which I had to reverse the exit point of the wire after unscrewing the cassette adapter.

There is a little noise though which is not audible even on average volumes - of course if you hear music on real low volumes and if you are too sensitive to noises then chances are this will bother you (if it does, don't go for any cassette adapter) - for most users out there I don't think the noise levels is bad - of course sound quality is not the best there's no hiding but then if you compare across cassette adapters - it's not bad at all I would say.

Overall - a good product. Far better than a FM transmitter. Worth a try.
