Great case
(5 out of 5) by Doit2it on Jul 11, 2009 (Madison, TN United States)Bought this for my ASUS 1000HE. This is a great little case for any 10" netbook. I use the outside pocket for my wireless mouse, a GPS receiver, and the occasional jump drive. The case is built well. I was worried the clear straps that hold the screen would be distracting, but no, they aren't. Access to ports on both sides is no problem, except the SD card slot is under the right side bungee that holds the keyboard in the case, but that's just my 1000HE. It great, just unzip it, open it up, power up, and start computing.

ASUS case

And then this little case fits nicely in my backpack or side case of my motorcycle. Offers little protection, but lots of convenience.

Needs a little more room for the power brick

Good overall protection
(3 out of 5) by Mark B Denver on Aug 21, 2009 (Denver, CO)This leatherette case was a little bit bigger than the 10.1 inch Netbook (Asus EEE 1000HE) that it was purchased for. A little sloppy on the corners for workmanship. But much better protection than the stretchable case that came with the Netbook. The front pocket is really only useful for either the power cord or an external DVD-RW drive, not both. But it is easier to carry around, even slides into a briefcase. Zippers are well-made, no problems so far.

SERIOUS HARDWARE DAMAGE RISK

This case allows the user to keep the netbook in the case while it is in use... the top two restraints are clear vinyl and the case is low profile enough to not hinder the user while typing
Here is the issue: while in the case, my ASUS 1000HE netbook overheated enough to force an automatic reboot... this is triggered at 90 degrees Celcius, or 194 Degrees Farenheit... in other words, insanely, insanely hot. The machine only has 500ms to shutdown before catastrophic, irreversible damage. if the shutdown BSOD (blue screen of death) fails to initiate, you will kill your machine.
So... If you get this case, DO NOT use the case as intended. Therefore, I would suggest using another product that functions like a more traditional case...
