For the "amatuer" earbudist

(2 out of 5) by Corey Bell on Apr 2, 2009 (Where ever the Army takes me, Earth)
I was highly anticipating the arrival of these, as I compared the actual audio specs to my deceased Shure E3c's and they weren't far off. But the price certainly was.. in a good way. NOT impressed. The clears need some tuning on the equalizer, and the bass is decent, but WOW, the midtones are.. Hollow? I'm still in the "burn-in" phase that JLAB tells you to go through, but I've never heard of that on any earbud before. It has gotten a little better over the last 12 hours, but I don't see it warming up to my standards. I laugh when I see these used to be 75 bucks, and I'm verrry glad I didn't pay that too. Get a pair of Skullcandy "Inked" earbuds. You can get them for under 20 bucks most places, and the sound quality is astounding. I can easily compare them to old Shures, but at more than 100 bucks cheaper.
The earpieces on the Jbuds don't fit the greatest either, I tried the other inserts to no avail. Maybe I'm just spoiled from the Shures, but the Skullcandies were cheaper and felt way better.

Overall, nice try, but try again. The mid range needs some definite work, maybe tune the high a little clearer and the bass is great where it's at.

Also, I listen to a wide range of music, from Death Metal, hardcore, hair metal, metalcore, deathcore, flamenco, blues, bluegrass, so I can't say my opinions are musically biased either.

Watched Transporter 3 with them as well, sounded much better than just music, but then again, you aren't paying much attention to anything but the music when you're listening to it, haha.

Comfortable, but sound is terrible

(2 out of 5) by aggiebunny on Mar 16, 2009 (Houston, TX United States)
I got these simply for the reason that no other ear phones have been comfortable for me. I have to admit that the comfort of these is outstanding, however, the sound is really terrible. If I just put them in and don't play ANY music, but have them plugged into my computer, I get a bunch of static noises. If I DO play music, the sound quality is really bad - ok sometimes, but then just horrible with lots of static, etc. at other times, and I'm really not at all picky about the quality of sound usually. I'm really disappointed - my cheaper headphones may not be comfortable, but that's not nearly as annoying as the sound on these is.

OK But...

(3 out of 5) by Contrary Mary on Feb 21, 2009 (York PA)
I got these earbuds to use at work to filter out the backgroung noise so I could concentrate on the job. That part works very well. The main problem is the size. My ear canals are small, and the earbuds even with the smallest cushions, kept falling out with the slighest movement. Other than that, the sound is passable and the noise cancelling works fine for the level you can get at this price.

Ever hear the saying "You get what you pay for"? This is a good example. These do not block any outside sound. And have absolutly NO!!!! Base. Terrible is too kind of a word to use. Really folks, save up and get some really great Bose in ear or QC2 over ear phones. Of which only the QC2 are noise cancelling, but they are both so far superior to these JBuds it's not even funny. I have only one other time ever had to return something to Amazon. These are going back.
