So Disappointed
I did a lot of research on Amazon about these earbuds, and I am so disappointed with how they turned out- especially given the reviews! First off, let me explain why I even gave it two stars rather than one:
1. Comes in a nice carry case
2. Didn't break immediately
3. Comes with 3 different sized ear pieces
Why you should NOT buy this product:
1. After about 2 months of use, the left earbud stopped working. At times I could get a bit of sound from it if I jiggled the wire around a lot, but for the most part, it was impossible to use these while moving in any way, as the sound would cut out.
2. None of the three ear piece sizes fit my ear well, and I don't believe I have extraordinary ears. These would pop out constantly, so any ability to cancel other noises was nullified.
3. I have since bought a $10 pair of ear buds from CVS and they have already done a better job than this $30 pair.

J2s Beat My V-Modas in a Comparison Test
For the last 18 months, I've enjoyed my V-Moda Bass Frequency Earbuds. Comfortable with decent sound these buds, which costs $30 at the time and currently go for $25, seemed an excellent value, especially since they seemed to offer more detail than my very comfortable, capable JBuds, which cost me $20 and are now under $10, a great buy for some back-up buds.
Then recently I noticed the $30 JBuds J2 and was particularly fond of the new orange color. I first tried the J2 buds in my Sangean WR-2, listening to classical and rock, turning up the volume as high as I could without damaging my ears. The sound was full and well balanced. How would they compare against my trusty V-Moda buds?
There was no comparison: The JBuds J2 buds were warmer, fuller and, ironically, had more bass than the V-Moda "Bass Frequency" buds. These latter buds sounded tinny with too much high end compared to the balanced JBuds J2 buds. My wife was nearby. She did the same comparison and agreed that the JBuds J2s are markedly better.
This is a no-brainer. Spend the extra $5 and get the J2s. They come in several colors. I like mine in orange.

The Jury is still out!
I have a very old pair of Sony MDR Earbuds that I paid about $50 or $60 for, many, many years ago. I bought them for a very pricey Walkman. I would still use them, but they have thin wires that tangle easily...also they are no longer very comfortable and lastly the wind up case that they came in, which I loved, now jams up.
The sound from the MDRs was simply superb. Because of all of the many years of technology that have since passed and because of all of the wonderful reviews that they have received, I was expecting the same rich full sound from these as well.
I now have 2 pairs of j2's because of a 2 for one promotion. I would not say that they are awful, but they just lack the depth that my Sony's have.
Maybe it is the "so called" "break in period". I have probably not played them long enough, to meet the full "break in period", but it seems to me that I have.
At a higher volume, they do sound somewhat richer, but still lack the quality of my really old Sony MDRs.
I don't need super deep base, but it is the overall richness that seems to be lacking.
I am playing them on an iPod shuffle. I am awaiting a Microsoft Zune and perhaps they will sound fuller on the Zune than they do on the iPod.
I will update this review in a few weeks when I feel that I have given them a much longer time to "break in" and to see how they are on the Zune, which is supposed to have a better sound than the iPod.
Or maybe I just need a much more expensive pair of earbuds, like the Sennheiser CX 500-T, to reach the level of sound that I am craving?
A folow up: I have been using them on my Zune and they sound far better than on the iPod. So, my conclusion is that it is not the jbuds, but the iPod versus the Zune. I adore my Zune, I might add.

Earbuds died after 2 months, customer service hasn't responded
I bought two pairs, one still works; the second pair died after 2 months of normal use. I repeatedly tried to contact their customer service to no avail. It's incredible how companies refuse to stand by their products. I made the purchase after having read reviews that raved about the customer service, sadly I've had the exact opposite experience. It seems they've gotten big enough not to care anymore.
